Again, you have to provide an explanation of equal or better value, or don't shoot mine down. I agree that the Wii U version presents no threat to the sales of an PS/XB versions, but then why would Activision hurt a version of their own game by acting like it doesn't exist when it does? It makes more sense to think that, as part of that exclusive content deal they signed with Microsoft, for instance, that Nintendo versions of the game have to be announced later. Not a whole separate deal to bury the Nintendo versions, but part of another promotional deal.

But why would they exclude just Nintendo?   Since they are no threat it's not worth excluding them

to say the only explanation is MSFT or Sony must have paid off Activision to keep the Wii u version silent is like saying you heard a sound in the woods you could not identify therefore the only explanation is that it was Bigfoot

I keep hearing this, and then hearing no other viable explanation. Feel free to shoot me down, but you should at least come up with an alternative of some kind.

A small flop is much better than a big flop I guess!

So you are saying they SHOULD put it on Vita.  If it is on the Wii u no reason it shouldn't t be on the Vita

Sure! If they are porting CoD:AW to the WiiU, then I don't see why the Vita shouldn't get a CoD game as well!

This has happened for every COD game since Black Ops 1 in 2010; Sony and Microsoft versions are announced, no word on a Nintendo port.

Then, months later, a Wii/Wii U version is quietly disclosed, and nothing is shown of it until release.

The question is why. Shit's baffling.

Not just that but look at the advertising material in game stores/tv etc. Only Sony and Micrososft logos. Not to mention no Prestige Edition or other editions except for the standard on Wii U.

wrong MS gets exclusive advertisment

ive never seen Microsoft exclusive here. Just Sony and Micorsoft branded advertising everywhere.

show me, what country are you in? MS has had exclusive ads since MW2 hell this very site not to long ago had Advanced Warfare ads with ONLY xbox being shown. So im not really sure what youve been seeing.

Yeah sure, as if MS or Sony would waste money on that. The Wii U version is absolutely no threat to their sales.

Then you explain why Activision acts like the game doesn't exist at all? Why confuse people for no reason?

I don't know. Whatever it is, Sony or MS are not paying Activision to keep the Wii U version a secret, that's a completely ridiculous conspiracy theory, they have nothing to gain from that.

It's not at all.  COD has been the lead game on XBox since the launch of 360, even though its not an exclusive title.  It's not a stretch at all to think that MS gives Activision cash to not promote the Wii U version.  Or perhaps its simply a lack of funds from Nintendo while MS and Sony both provide marketing $$$.

the problem with the theory is that the people who spout it cant even get their facts straight. SONY provides NO marketing for COD games, so right there that tidbit throws the whole theory out the window. MS has EXCLUSIVE advertisment with COD at least in the US

Because they dont NEED to, your theory is silly especially since we KNOW that MS has exclusive advertising with Xbox, been like that for years. ITs still funny how some people hold on to their conspiracy theories. Wii U version accounts for less than 1% of overall sales, laughable. Why would they even waste time with that? Hell be happy its even coming at all, Wii U fans know it is they will buy it if they want to and judging by the sales they really dont want to.

Right, and i'm just wondering if, as part of that advertising deal, Activision must delay announcement of versions for Nintendo platforms? It could be that Microsoft tried to get Activision to run it as a pretend exclusive (again, as a part of this advertising deal), but given the sales parity with PS, Activision said no, so they just settled with excluding Nintendo platforms.)

SMH, youre still wrong. MS has been trying to have it pretend exclusive for years now. Thing is the PS version STILL doesnt get adveritsed. period. Coverage is not advertisment. you dont see PS logos on TV commercials or billboards. Hell xbox is still the only platforms that gets DLC FIRST. Guys really need to stop playing the Ninty is the victim card, they are not in this case.

This makes perfect sense really.  There are millions of COD fans.  If MS can eliminate one of the potential platform options to play COD on, it's good for them.  Activision doesn't make that much off COD on Wii U anyway, so the extra cash to delay the announcement is probably worth it to them.

Many consumers really think of COD as an XBox title, or at least an XBox or PS title.  They don't even know you can play it on Wii U.

it actually makes NO sense. MS already pays out the ass to have EXCLUSIVE advertisment and to get DLC first. You have to be crazy to think they are paying extra money to pick on poor Nintendo on WIi U. Its nonsencical since that version accounts for less than ONE percent of already sales. THe idea that MS or Sony is threatened by any Wii or Wii U version is laughable. Hell MS would be better spent trying to downplay the PS version since that its actual competitor, which is what they have been doing hence the exclusive advertisment.

I'm in australia no idea about TV ads as well we hardly see gaming ones. I'm talking about the marketing posters that hang on walls in shops here where they say "Available on....", all platform logos are covered except Wii U.

do you have a link? cause that would be strange. MS has exclusive ads in the US (which makes sense since that is their strongest terrorite and where COD is most popular). But to be fair i cant really comment on anything going down in countries i havent been. My only guess is it goes by region whatever brand is most popular in said region gets the biggest push and vice versa.  maybe the posters were put out before the Wii U version got confimaion?

You still haven't offered a better explanation for keeping the Wii U version under wraps.

Think it through: advertising only comes from Microsoft, but not the actual console announcements. It could be an issue that Microsoft tried to get the very announcements buried, but that Activision refused for PS due to the revenue received there, but agreed to go MS-exclusive advertising while burying the very existence of the Nintendo versions.

This *did* start in 2010 when that MS/Activision deal first surfaced, after all.
