Connection Errors. Every freakin' two online games the same old thing. That and Error Code: 118-0502.
Just can't build a good rhythm with online racing and am trying hard too. I want to play and beat the people I am playing with but every couple games I am thrown out and have to join in with new players.

Tourneys are a pain in the ass to join.

I have tried Regional instead of Global but that didn't help.

Hopefully Nintendo will sort this soon and I will only forgive them if the reason for this problem is stated as "overloading because the game sold over 1m first week" :)

Are there specific MK8 ports to open? When I enable DMZ in the DD-WRT firmware, my Wii U can't go online anymore...

I already opened some ports for CoD, Blacklist and ´Wii Sports Club. Maybe MK8 uses the same ports as WSC.

EDIT: Ah, DMZ works now, I had to disable the opened ports. Can DMZ cause security issues?


Is all this really necessary? I am not saying it is not but do you have to be a IT guru to play a simple game these days?

I have played many online games on every console and PC and never had to do any of this stuff to get it to work properly.

Lack of an on-screen map (the fuck were they thinking by choosing not to include it?) and not being able to hold two items are both very disappointing imo.

Surprised people are annoyed by the new Rainbow Road. I'd like something more, but in length as opposed to difficulty.

The most annoying part is the tourneys. Why are they so...feeble?

And no King Boo makes me very sad.

My biggest complaints on MK8 are:

- No way to reset to 1000 VR points online in-game if you feel like having a fresh start.
- Lack of "Auto/Manual drifting" that was present in MKWii, this would'v helped make some kart combos viable for racing.
- No traditional arena-style tracks in Battle Mode.
- Lack of map on-screen.
- Poor character roster. Why Pink Gold Peach?.. where's Birdo, Boo, Petey Piranha, Diddy Kong, Dry Bones, etc.?

First off my rating is 95 out of 100 the two things that I find  I didnt care for is, the coin option should only be when you are in first not when you 6th, just doesnt help. Soundtrack could of been better. But thats it for me.
