I LOVE the game, but there are a few complaints.

The new Rainbow Road is a bit...safe? With the anti-gravity they could have really gone crazy with it, but it feels tamer than any Rainbow Road since the N64 one. And ironically enough, the N64 Rainbow Road retro remake is more stunning to behold than the new one anyway, in my opinion.

The lack of battle arenas is disappointing. I personally feel that battle mode was perfected in Mario Kart 64, and ever since then they've been taking steps back with each installment. The battle mode here feels rushed and tacked on, like they didn't have time to make arenas by the release date because they'd spent so much time making the courses friggin' gorgeous so they figured they'd just use them for battle mode too. But they're too big and it's too difficult to turn around. Give us some DLC with battle arenas...please and thank you.

Character selection is a bit "meh."

I don't really see the problem with Battle Mode, it's very fun and the tracks are much better than the square ones. Of course they should have made specific tracks for Battle Mode, but in the vain of the main tracks.

I've only tried battle mode once so far and with the tracks the way they are I drove round and only found person to actually battle in the whole game. I'd say that's a problem.

What do you mean be just person? Did you only play a game with one person?

When I play online I usually have it full and chaotic.

No, it was a full 12 person game. Just everyone on the other team died before I met them

I actually tried playing with teams, but only with the computer and it wasn't fun. It's better to play solo.

I haven't played MK8 yet, but I really wanted the Battle Mode to kick ass like in the good ol' days!

I haven't played battle mode so I can't say anything about that, but the thing that I really don't like is that they went with the VR ( MK7 as opposed to MK Wii). Oh, and the new Rainbow Road is pretty weak with all of those safety rails.

No Double Dash mode :L

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

Bowser in a bike is broken. Insane top speed and acceleration. I really dislike all the customization, just go back to karts only like the good old days.

Lack of race times.. I'm not sure why Nintendo thinks this isn't an important feature to have anymore. This is probably my biggest disappointment with the game.

-Character roster is kind of disappointing. Not really who's there, but who isn't... Where's King Boo, or just a boo character in general?

-Lack of All-Cup tours (One for new tracks, one for retro)... I know it's a dream, but I'd love to see it in a MK game again.

I would harp on battle mode, but honestly the only battle mode I ever liked was in Super Mario Kart.

Wait, there is really no option to invite your online friends?

Sure there is.

Just send them a quick message on Facebook.

How can Nintendo keep on getting online gaming so wrong, after all those years...

They say Miiverse was made so gamers would feel connected with each other, yet they won't even implement the most basic stuff when it comes to online matches, making players feel disconnected from their friends in the end... They really need to catch up with the times. =(
