Forums - Microsoft Discussion - How the X1 could immediately make the Kinect a system seller.

In the COD lobbty room, between the start of online games, give the players the option after voting, to slide the screen and visually interact with other players in the lobby. brag, talk smack, teabag something.

Cue up the ability to restrict your video to a choice of different static picutres like; pwned, maybe a middle finger, or maybe an interactive overlay where the last games best player moves his head around to fit snugly into a crown.. you know, something lame but fun for the kids lol.

simple.  immersive. a total must have to differentiate the same game on two different systems.

umm if you can do it with kinect, you can do it with PS4 eye camera. So what's the difference?

They need a game that will rope in the casuals

c'mon dude you know you can't..  three operating systems running parallel.. to one. the ps4 is admittedly more powerful with graphics, but the X1's design lets it do things the PS4 simply can't do. Not because it doesn't have the horsepower, just that the horses are running a slighlty different race.

don't be petty my man. I never even mentioned the PS4.

no. they need a casual accent that really compliments a hardcore game. and I don't mean some 'better with kinect' company sales speak like with Mass Effect 3, but something more interactive between online opponents.

real gamers see Kinect as a joke and that's not going to change by releasing Kinect ony games like 'Sports Rivals'. They need something that will really accent the interactivity between gamers on titles like COD, Halo, and Battlefield. Madden.

although I do suppose that if you let gamers celebrate on camera after getting the final kill in COD, you're going to see a lot more penises than your allotted amount for the day.

so obviously, there's a few kinks to work through. lol.

cause you know there'd be some kid shoving his miniature junk right up against the Kinect eyehole.
funny. yeah.
would it help sales after word got out, probably not.

No really, what is stopping pulling a video chat while in a lobby?   There is no technical impediment.
XBone's "mutitasking" allows switching out to a totally independent application,
but what you're talking about is linked to the game, involving the exact same players waiting in the same game lobby,
i.e. it would tie into the game code, and be just as easily achieved via an in-game v-chat feature.
Exporting the IP address of the other players to a separate v-chat app is pointless, you can do it in app just as well or better.
"Multitasking" is great when you want to allow combining/switching between ARBITRARY programs not inherently related to each other.
If you know what programs you want to use (near) simultaneously, and they are tightly tied together, m-tasking doesn't offer much value.

I personally think they should have a mystery science theater 3000/chat roulette app. You choose a silhouette caricature to represent you on the bottom of the screen, then randomly change who you are watching shows with, whose gaming session your watching, or broadcast mode where others can watch you and comment.

For example- Imagine I'm watching football, and randomly people log on to the same feed and comment on the game, talk smack, route for the same team, etc..

push a button and it's off to the next random person, or select to watch with a friend, select to get help, etc... kind of like a virtual shared couch mode but with anonymous silhouettes instead of actual live feed.

That sounds more like a reason not to buy an xbox at all!
