A bit less. I'd say a little over 3m would be it. People raged over it of good reason, but not nearly everyone would have kept their word.

2.95 million

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I would say 2 million as of right now given how I could see thousands of baffled consumers over the holidays creating a lot of bad press. Many core fans would hold off expecting a policy reversal in 2014, think Kinect issue but many times larger.

Probably less than 2 million.

This. The media would be eating off of the negative press for months.

It would be like steam. People would complain and get all in a huff, then realize they like not fumbling for disk every time they want to play a different game.

I think they would be selling more games though. I see so many complaints about people wanting to stay all digital but they aren't happy with it's $15 or so more than buying physical.

But they should have made an 'off-line' mode for people that can't or don't have Internet connection.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

This. 99% of the people who have and will buy the XBO will never even know what DRM is.

It would have sold even more than it has so far, because the DRM was a huge selling point!

I agree with this. The backlash from the press would have been so extreme to destroy any credibility it had. Even people that wouldn't follow gaming news about it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hUUsqhetX4 I remember when PS4 was shown on this show. If i'm correct the XBO was still holding onto it's DRM policies. But even when a crowd of 30-40 years olds in a TV audience applaud that a console has the ability to share it's games, you're not going to escape that sort of press.

XBO would have been dead in the water. Thank god they changed and there will be competition this gen.
