I thought Grand Theft Auto was overrated with GTA4. GTA5 changed that, and I will never doubt it again.

GTA IV is certainly overrated, perhaps the weakest installment in the series since the top down days of GTA I and II. That said it is still a good game, and the rest are great. As a whole, GTA is one of the premier franchises in video games.

I loved Vice City.

San Andreas is my favorite game of all time.

GTA IV was an awful boring mess.

GTA V was a very good game, but still much overrated.

No comment on older versions or Stories cash-ins...

They're good, I like red dead far more though.

It's an incredibly overrated series, but that doesn't mean all the game are bad.

GTA IV is the biggest offender, it made some sacrifices and those sacrifices hurt it more than they helped.

I haven't played much of 5, but it definately improves on what was missing in 4, but in the end I think it lacked something from the little I played. The 3 people mechanic wasn't something I would view as positive. I didn't like it.

I don't get the game because I'm just not into the cop chase game style.

It's funny you all say GTA 4 was the worst GTA.

GTA 4 was the highest rated GTA game.

Reviewers gave it a score of 9.8

Gamers gave it a score of 7.4

Big difference.

I think GTA4 is overated for the fact that it is inferior to GTASA in some aspects,but GTA5 do be a remarkable game with a unimaginably large quantity of fasinating content which I haven't ever seen but looked forward to.Apparently,it's my own opinion,thus forgive me if you think my comment is biased.

GTA4 was ok, i enjoyed it ,graphically it wasn't that great on PS3.. GTAV is a masterpiece in terms of graphics and what they were able to get out of the consoles, better than 4 but still lacking in some things to do.

GTA IV is the most overrated game ever. I'm not even going to sugar coat it, it is a genuinely bad game. I don't care how pretty the presentation is, the mechanics are completely broken. It doesn't matter if its story is oscar worthy, If the gameplay isn't good then the game isn't good.

All GTA games have had their flaws and certain mechanics that weren't really up to par, but they make up for it with other great gameplay enhancements like vibrant cities with lots to do. GTA IV doesn't even have that, so yeah, its bad.
