Almost 1-0 to Iran

Around the Network

I'm very surprised how close this game has been. Iran have had the best chances and should have had a penalty.

Why do some teams perform well against the established teams and play badly against the less established?

Like Italy, Uruguay, Netherlands... Argentina?

those teams pull up a wall and the bigger teams don't

Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

To be fair this wasn't really all that unexpected, Argentina played like crap against Bosnia. Sure they won, but it wasn't really a convincing victory.

Maybe there is a lesson to be learnt somewhere in that. Yes, it makes bad viewing but it's the result that matters.

I was mainly thinking of Costa Rica, though. They didn't put up much of a wall, and Australia played attacking football that bothered Holland more than Spain did.

Ohhhhh so close from Iran! Seriously Argentina are just getting worse and worse and Iran better and better the more the game goes on.

@Justinian. When I practice tennis and I play against the guy who compete in big tournaments, our coach always tells us "they're the big guys, they're nervous and feel the pressure (of losing against amateurs)"
That's what's happening to every big team this WC.

Argentine are really poor. I expected so much more

Iran deserves a point out of this match. I usually don't care for non scoring draws but I wouldn't complain if this turns out to be one.

Argentina has been a big disappointment so far. If this draws, it makes the Nigeria v Iran match a good result. I would give Iran a chance against Bosnia.
