Cholo Simeone, he was sent off for protesting lol

You could clearly read his lips lol

Cholo is a nickname for Diego?

No no, it's kind of a long story but in short, I read that in Velez Sarsfield there was a player in the 60s who's last name was Simeone, they called him "Cholo". Later Diego Simeone played for Velez and was called Cholo because of the original one

Cholo is a weird term. It can be insulting or not. It's used in some places of south america to refer to mixed people with darker skin. I live in Chile and we don't use it much, so I don't know much about it's usage. But it can be used in a friendly way by people too. Kinda like in south america it depends on many things if "negro" is an insult or not (like words/insults/dimminutives added, tone, who says it, etc...), you know racial sensibilities are very dependant on the context in different countries and cultures.

The original Cholo aparently was called like that because of his mixed apearance. I'll just tell you everyone in the media calls this Simeone "Cholo" and no one thinks of it as a racist thing(from Spain and all of South America).

Oh. Seems a bit strange to give him the same nickname as another guy just because of the same surname and the fact they played for the same team. You'd think he's been successful enough to be known by his own name or have his own nickname by now rather than one borrowed from someone else.

Yeah, I guess by now he is way more famous. But the original guy was from the 60s and he was a classic player from the club, when Simeone made his debut he was a kid and they called him "Cholito" (little Cholo would be a way to say it), guess no one ever bothered to change it

Ot, Arsenal scored, but I still think Atlético will take it

Now I imagine Simeone going CRAZY lol

Well deserved the ref killed this game at the start

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

It ain't the ref's fault what the players do and when they do it.

Arsenal suck though.

No but giving that second yellow within 10 minutes is just dumb

Blame the player for being dumb..?

Maybe the player was dumb but the ref had the option to not kill the game, and he didnt take it

Both yellows were deserved imo, maybe we would be talking crap about the ref if he hadn't given them

Lacazzette did a good job though, he seems to at least have some blood. He will probably leave sick with his teammates attitude some seasons later

Clearly he didn't kill the game as Atletico still left with the tie pretty much in their hands

Results dont tell me if there was lovely football. Lets put it this way witb 11 vs 11 atleti would have been more on the attack which would have give arsenal its formidable or favo way to attack: the lightning counter.

Instead we had this weak full pressure snoozefest

Honestly even before the sending off Atletico couldn't get out of their box. The game didn't change much.

That is something we will never know
