Ronaldo is/was/will always be better than Messi. Specially after he wins the Eurocup!

Anyway after the whole "tax evasion" stuff I expect Messi to slowly move away from the top spots, his fame is going to take a big hit. The next big star for the next 10 years is Neymar Jr anyway so it's not like they don't have a replacement for him!

Completely agree.

And saying this hurts me more than you think. I always wanted Messi to be the great player everyone talks about and to give us at least a damn Copa America. But the truth is he isn't that great. The national team sucks, Messi sucks, Afa is in ruins, we are a mess. Argentinian football as a whole is in shambles.

Eeeh? But Messi is a great player, one of the very best we have nowdays, C. Ronaldo being better than him (IMO) doesn't make him not great as well XP. He messed up his chances with Argentina, but he is still a great player.

Though I believe Neymar has more talent than both of them, and thank God for that because if we didn't have him Brazil would be so pathetic. But Messi is still a great player, one of the very best from his gen.

Neymar wish he had killer instinct and passing abilities of Messi. Talent is not just playing with ball like a Seal (Ronaldinho).

Neymar (occasional) spark will fade quickly, just a hunch.

Ronaldo isn't as theatrical as Messi but he is very effective and dangerous. He does his one job and he is perfect at it even when he isn't having a good day.

Messi doesn't have a fixed role, he excels at different things. One game he is scoring a hat trick, the next he is the play maker to the hat trick.

Barca needs to buy Pogba imo so that Messi gets to play nearer to opponent's GK or as a winger again.

I do think Messi is better but CR isn't that far behind.

He is a great player... in Barcelona. I just don't feel he is as great in the national team... and to be honest, that's the one that counts.

Being offensive it's not gonna support any point you make, tho.

Ronaldinho was just too much for Messi just as well, like you or not.

That wasn't offensive. Ronaldinho at the end of his Barca years, he was more interested in spectacles/show off than playing for the team.

That bolded phrase was coined by a Brazilian sport commentator.

Ronaldinho never achieved futbol total even though he had more flair than anyone ever.

Regardless of who told the phrase you used, as you replicated it is accounts from you as well, and comparing him to a seal to try to make a point (put him down) is rather offensive and unnecessary, yes.

I compared his play style to a seal, I didn't call him a seal. Check that interpretation.

You compared him to a seal to try to dismiss his, of course it was regarding his football as we were talking about it (not apparence or anything like that), but is still a comparision between him and a seal, with the intent to put him down, as if it was an argument.

Anyway, the discussion turning to semantics is even more lame, so gotta put an end on this right now.

Sorry about that Ronaldinho.

Get out of here, I don't even understand why you're getting offended because I used a metaphor to describe Ronaldinho's playful style.

That's a bold opinion. After the Eurocup nothing will change but for the Portugal team.

If there's one thing we can take from this cup is that, there's no one man team.

Today Danilo was the best man in the field.

Aside from all this Ronaldo vs Messi stuff, Portugal really deserves the cup. They are one of the "big ones" in Europe and having missed their chance against grecee was like a kick in the nuts.

Agreed! Their team is very good, the normal team is not playing due to injuries. Their midfield should be an example to Tata Martino.

How do you play 4-3-3 with 3 defensive midfielders? Never seen it in my life. Tata was afraid of Chile.
