Possibly, but only in the beginning. Nothing could've saved the Wii U from itself at this point, not even a different name.

yes, it certainly would have. when i first heard that nintendo was calling it the wii u i was very very disappointed.

Wii2 would have cleared up A LOT of casual consumer confusion as to whether it was a Wii accessory or not.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

If it was called Wii 2, the holiday 2012 and 2013 would obviously be higher, but since there was a bad drought, January-October probably wouldn't be great.

If it were Nintendo Ultra... probably. If it were Ultra Nintendo Entertainment System... there aren't enough ways in the universe to say "Hell Yeah".

Let's pretend the Wii U was called the "Nintendo Ultra." Would sales be a lot higher, a little higher, or the same? I highly doubt it could get any worse. I know too that sales wouldn't be that much higher but maybe it wouldn't of crossed the line in America and still be above the PS4 as of now? I don't know you guys tell me I honestly think it would have been selling more along the lines of the XBOX One if it had a different name.

Definitely!  That just sounds powerful and the Wii U perception right now is its not.

By a small amount. There was so many things nintendo did wrong promoting the product, but not letting the wii go out with a bang or releasing a mass of quality wii u games near launch were probably the big issues.

People were afraid that the wii u would be as empty as the wii was during the end of it's life and Nintendo did little to counter that. Naming confusions would have been largely solved if the product was more talked about and games are the best way of doing that.

Yes definitely.
