Im basing this on the developers meta history, which are all in the high 70s since 2009. Arctic Edge, Apocalypse, and RC. Also based on arcade racer Need for Spped Rivals which got a 75 on X1 and a 80 on PS4. Also the latest sims Forza 5 (80) and GT 6 (81).

Based on the developer, and recent arcade + sim metas, this game would be lucky to get a 80 at the most. Were looking at a mid-high 70's title.

That makes zero sense, I guess Uncharted reviews and last of us should have been lower, considering what JAx and daxter scored right? All great previews = good reviews.

Uncharted 1 in 2007 could have been estimated based on their previous work. Comparing Jak and Daxter to Last of Us makes no sense. You estimate Last of Us based on the Uncharted series. You base Uncharted 2 and 3 on their predesessor. Get it?

Previews are supposed to be positive. They can also be impartial and neutral. Reviews are where the critical aspects come in. Look. I took what the dev did in the last 4 years and also what other racers are pulling in. There is some ground for my estimation. The game is gorgeous but that won't save it if it doesn't have real substance.

Your making up crap, previews are not supposed to be positive, many are negative, and are a persons impressions good or bad, there are many mixed or bad previews out there.

Substance?? Ignoring the great tracks, speed, social features and fun previewers describe?

Well I am entitled to my opinion, and I at least showed I have some grounds for it. Nothing wrong with a high 70's meta.....thats actually very good.

It is ok to hype realistic metas. Don't let exclusivity cloud your judgement. I personally hyped Titanfall in the high 80's because I knew lacking a campaign would hold it back. I was right because I didn't get blindly into the hype and logically predict based on the facts given. Just saying.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Yeah that's a puzzling take, previews are simply early impressions.  They are not necessarily good or bad, they're just previews.  And I agree, if you were to look at the previews of the past, they are positive and negative...and some, in fact, are both.  It's kind of the previewer's job to point out areas they like, and areas they don't.

IGNSince we have nothing else on PS4 to compare it to yet, I'd say that Driveclub's 1080p, 30 frame-per-second graphics are roughly on par with Forza Motorsport 5's 1080p/60fps looks. I'd give the slight edge to Forza when making a mental comparison, but I'd have to put them side-by-side in order to really make a call. But this isn't a console face-off; PS4 players are certainly not going to be disappointed by Driveclub's looks. (Ryan Mccaffrey)

If the above is true (however one can asses true, I guess a technical comparison of what goes on in the graphics engine, in the vein of DigitalFoundry), either:

1. Xbox has more power than the PS4 or

2. It's easier to draw 60 FPS than 30FPS or

3. It's easier to be a launch title than an year old title or

4. The devs for fortza are much bettern than the devs for driveclub or

ammmm

I put who made that quote for a reason.  Ryan Mccaffrey is very much Xbox biased, and practically says so on his twitter, despite the fact IGN is supposedly neutral.

This is why people cannot take game media seriously, bunch of fanboys. A site like IGN should have better standards.  It's only making them look bad though, people are laughing at his comment, and he had the nerve to say this is not a comparison, then brings up x1 and forza, and say a load of bull.

its no problem ,why complaints from the xboxers us sony fanboys have already paid for our exclusive demo version via ps plus, looking forward to playing it when it drops and deciding if we want to upgrade to the full, its all good

I smell like the dark forest of Dwemereth in the morning mist                                                   fanboy til i'm bankrupt

It doesn't look that beautiful tbh. I don't see a large difference compared to last gen's Gran Turismo 5/6. Also it's 30fps, which is unacceptable for a racer.

Incredible.
