DQ11 and MH5 for 3ds no???

PS4 and wii u are a fail in Japan!

Well, even if the last two month PS4 have sold nice, don't forget that PS4 is still below DreamCast lifetime.
Any way, PS4 will probabily sell 5,000,000 / 6,000,000 lifetime...

Not bad for a home console in Japan, or bad for the PS4 performance Globally... depend.

I was talking about home console jrpgs of big budget. Btw the existence of dedicated mobile gaming is in danger. So its not a good future. Now with yakuza, persona, final fantasy, dragon quest, star ocean, kingdom hearts etc home consoles can reestablish past glory days. Good times indeed.

i think its pretty obvious that hes talking about consoles... you know given the fact that we are talking about consoles in this thread and not handhelds...

and even then the 3DS and DS arent the only ones that got JRPGs in the past, the PS3 has gotten a more than healthy ammount of JRPGs in its lifetime (spawning even new series like the soul series, nino kuni and valkyria chronicles in its lifetime) and it has more JRPGs than any other 7th gen console... heck its almost a decade old console and its still getting more, star ocean 5 and persona 5 anyone???

if anything the PS4 is doing great just because its getting more japanese games than the PS3 got in the same time of its life, one can only expect an even bigger support from japanese games on the PS4.

OP argued that PS4 may end up selling less than Wii U and Xbox One and I seriously doubt that.

No reason to conclude things before a single mainline blockbuster has been released on PS4.

Agreed. Plus I don't understand why people put 3ds name in every thread which looks completely out of place. Such behaviour is giving 3ds a bad vibe in this forum.

He said the savior of JRPGs. Period. That's like me saying a restaurant was the savior of the cheeseburger and then someone pointing out that McDonald's has been selling cheeseburgers at a fast rate for years and then me saying "Oh, I wasn't talking about fast food"

Yeah, the PS3 did have a lot of JRPGs. So you're invalidating his point further. The genre has never been dead. Sure, it's not as abundant as before, but is any genre besides the shooter and maybe third-person action adventure?

Yep, how things have changed. Well, actually a lot of people expected this once the PS4 had been out a bit longer so maybe things didn't change afterall

 

I knew PS4 would do well once games start rolling.

The home console market will never reach the heights of the 7th gen, so I'm not sure what you're talking about.

Well, I do, but it makes no sense.
