I couldn't possibly remember the first game I bought myself.
The first console was a GBA SP though.

I remember saving for a year and getting Mega Man 2 (NES). I played that game so much and died over and over until I finally beat it..
System was the PlayStation 2 as consoles tended to be reserved as Christmas presents. I saved for a good 16 months to get it and SSX.
Nintendo 64 with Mario. I don't remember when but it was either very close to gen 6 or already in it.

The Gamecube was my first console I actually paid for with my money. Star Wars: Rogue Leader was my first game.
I was a pretty spoiled kid so i didn't purchase my first console until the 360 launched. I bought it as a present to myself for my 18th birthday. Games i picked up with it were Condemned: Criminal Origins and Quake 4.
Is this another thread to make me feel very old?... ok, lets play along.
The first console I purchased with my own money was a SNES in 1992, I was 12, it came with a second control and Super Mario World. I only had 2 games for that console in all the years I had it, the other one DKC was a gift a few years later, I played a lot of titles all rented on a store, almost 1 different every week.
The first game I purchased with my own money was (not including Super Mario World) Killer Instinct Gold and Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire, both at the same time on December 1996.
The game was Skyward Sword and the console Wii U.
My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
The first console was the Vita and game, probably a PS3 or wii game I don't remember tbh
nintendo 64 with Mario 64. I sold my bike and added some money I got from my mom... So many good memories...
