Not for that price.

Am I weird? I don't understand why anyone would pay more than $400 for a tablet. I don't care how powerful it is.

Surface pro isn't a tablet.

All tablets can connect to a keyboard. Doesn't make them laptops.

i dont see the difference...  it runs normal windows. that means its a laptop

I love Surface. I think its ahead of its time however.

Read the Surface Pro are great substitutes for a Wacom Cintiq so i'm very interested in this.

I love these things but boy are they too expensive.

I don't see things getting any better for Surface tablets.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Indeed, they're niche and far too expensive. I don't know if MS is even going for mass marketshare anymore with what they're putting out, perhaps they just want a presence and a profit with their surface line now.

I do like the look and functionality of Surface but I'm glad I got my iPad mini and unfortunately, would chose it over Surface any day of the week, mainly because like millions of others I want it for fun/entertainment, not work.

I have heard really bad things about the pen drivers in windows tablets.  I hope they resolved them but you might want to research that a bit incase they haven't.

As it stands nothing is a substitute for a Cintiq.  The only reason the pens on the Samsungs Note aren't crap is  because they bought some of the Wacom.  Samsungs note offerings are still using the old stuff.

Quite like the Surface Pro 3. I'll surely consider it when i need a laptop for work in the future. Back in University i bought Dell Laptop for $1400, heavy as brick and horrible battery life.

Surely it is expensive compared to cheapo laptops but $800-$1000 for such a slick device seems worth it.

You have really noobified yourself with google love. What makes it a laptop is ability to run native (legacy) windows programs.

Compare it to the MacBook Air and it all makes sense. It won't have the same following; still, it shouldn't be compared to arm systems from a pure performance / productivity point of view. The price however... hmm... (The Core I3 version for 5-600 would've been sweet).

It doesnt even make sense compared to a macbook air for students. By the time I get a keyboard, i'll be out like 1050 before tax on a surface with my best buy student discount. I was out 850 after my student discount for the new 13.3" macbook air. I guess I dont understand what the additional $200 buys me?

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

Too expensive and I really don't like the GUI. Yep, the latter point is subjective, but it's the subjective point of view of an awful lot of other users too. And what on earth is the purpose of a 2160x1440 resolution on a 12" display? Unnecessarily suck more battery life? Keeping the pixels indistinguishable even if the user watches the screen with a magnifying lens (probably needed to distinguish the characters if displayed at their default size in pixels on such screen)?
