I think the term "indie machine" isn't appropiate. The term "PS4 controller" seems like a more accurate description for the system.

That would make some sense if sales had increased after the release of ps4. The sales suggest that almost no one uses it as a ps4 controller. If anything, it should be renaimed "ps hardcorz", as it seems that only people loyal to the ps brand gave it a chance.

No. It's: if they make an investment, it should be a full-fledged one, not as half-assed as this was. Release great hardware with incredible potential and... keep on pumping games for the PS3, which they were going to kill in a matter of months with PS4 either way. Sony has killed Vita when they decided that they want to keep on supporting PS3 instead of building a solid new platform for themselves - an epicly foolish move. Vita would be earning them money for ages, while the small PS3 boost gave them nothing. Instead of supporting early adopters, who spend the most money on games and are willing to spend $60 on a game, they've decided to be more attractive to extreemely late adopters, who rarely buy games either way, and most of them are used or cost next to nothing. Just how stupid do you have to be?

If Ni No Kuni, God of War: Ascension, The Last of Us, Puppeteer, Beyond: Two Souls, Gran Turismo 6 and Rain all came exclusively to Vita on top of Killzone: Mercenary, Soul Sacrifice and other games, the platform would be vibrant and selling like cupcakes and 3rd parties would actually find a viable market for themselves on the Vita, which would allow Sony to focus on PS4 with a clear conscience. This call - supporting PS3 in 2013 instead of supporting Vita is what killed the Vita and what will cost Sony millions.

This is one of the biggest mistakes in the PlayStation history.

No, just no. God forbid Ni no Kuni and The Last of Us are handheld exclusives. They wouldn't be half the games they are today.

I agree GT6 and Ascension should be Vita games though (GT6 with another name, obviously). I'll give you Pupeteer too.

Didn't Ni no Kuni do well as an NDS exclusive? And I'm sure NDS was nowhere near as powerful as psvita. Though I have to say, I absolutely loves it on ps3, so in a way I'm glad it was released on ps3 instead. I could see The Last of US getting an 80 meta at best as a psvita game.

Pretty impressive for a DS game, but it doesn't come close to the outstanding PS3 version. Granted, a Vita version would be closer to the PS3 version, but it's a game that belongs on a home console.

I guess I kind of agree since I spend quite a few hours being amazed by the visuals. I'm just saying that in terms of sales, it would have properly worked well on psvita, since it would be a significant improvement over the nds version.

I'd love it if Sony gave up the handheld business and would focus completely on home consoles, but that will never happen :'(

If Sony wants to be profitable again someday, this seems the kind of investment they should avoid.

I would enjoy Ni No Kuni much more on my Vita than my PS3. Can't see a single reason why this particular game would suddenly become half the game - I think you are underestimating Vita.

I know TLOU is a bit of a strech (as the only on my list though), but Vita should get at least one Naughty Dog game in its early life. It just happened, that they were making TLOU at that point. Moreover, it would make the PS4 remake not look like such an obvious moneygrab and cheap way to fill the voids in release schedules. Both Vita and PS4 would benefit from it. Instead Sony chose to benefit a console that is already dead. Great move!

Also don't forget about Beyond: Two Souls. It's a gimmicky game, so gimmicky touch controls would work great with it. The visuals would be downgraded, but the overall experience could be much better, if the approached it with an open mind, like Media Molecule did with Tearaway.

All in all, I believe that was the year and the single call that sentenced Vita to death. What's worst is that it was so stupid, obvious and avoidable. They went for the quick buck instead of investing in a platform that would be generating money for years to come. I'm lost for words and somebody should lose his job.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I wonder how hard it is to get a PS3 game running on the Vita, i think the PSP was much closer to the PS2 in power than the Vita and PS3. If it hade been easier we would have atleast seen more ports.

Yep! Sony should definitely keep supporting the Vita with non-existent  AAA games!

There'd be fewer JRPGs and I don't want that :(

Squeezol's Fanclub Member? is that how it works?

Why can't I hold all these no gaemz?

Always looking to improve my awful drawings ;_;

Until we get games like Tearaway, Soul Sacrifice and Freedom Wars, I dont care what budget they give it. Just keep up the good work, and feed me more quality games. Its pretty much my most played device at the moment and man I have a backlog.

The Vita will never break out bigtimes, it will only do decent numbers, and that's only because of Japan.
