Good thing Sony chose to bump it from 4GB GDDR5 to 8 :p
It sounds more like unoptimization up the ass rather then using the 8gb of ram to its full potential but we will see... If Crysis 4 looks zomg, then maybe but if it doesn't look too much different from Crysis 3... Then meh

Give an inch, they take a mile. Sometimes I wish something exciting would happen, like the discovery of a totally new colour.
WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3
Depends on how much you want to put in it. The more you can load into the RAM beforehand the better for the game.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
Given how much Crytek sucks at optimization; I'll take someone else's word for it... Besides that though, of course console hardware will be a limiting factor for game development, that has always been the case.
The rest of the "low" specs consoles will be probably a much bigger problem as the RAM.
Contradicting cryteck hits again.

I was about to mention that. I specifically remember them saying they wanted next gen consoles to have 8GB, and now they want more? I mean come on. Their games really arent that impressive to begin with; what the hell does it matter what they want?
