I think it depends purely on how well Sony starts doing financially. No other company woul keep funding such a clearly unprofitable project.

it is called the last guardian.

When sony dies in like 10 years or so then this game will be released to protect sony and to prevent sony from going bankrupt.


Dont expect it to ever release while sony is successful.

30 years after its success/release we'll all be complaining about it having 2 MMOs, how its gameplay has changed and the target audience being changed to super mainstream casuals, how the brand is dead and how Squareenix Sony is stupid on making ports on iOS and android.


And then suddenly they'll pull up their act and will finally release a good game again* and old BasilZero will relog into his ancient account and use one of the game characters as his Avatar and Signature? ;)

The "finally good again game" will of course will be released on Nintendo's latest handheld called the QOL-tendo Entertainment InterBrainScent System (some brain implant holodeck QOL thing with smell feature)

Of course they can, and I will be one of them.

Doesn't mean the game will do anything of substance to shift consoles - a large part of what E3 is all about.

I think you mixed up two conversations!

Will the game do anything sales-wise? They should scrap the project and release Shadow of the Colossus 2 instead. That's like the millionth time I said that, but it just makes sense. Considering that SotC was a million-seller and has acquired a reasonably big fanbase, it's a much safer bet.

It would be a better game too. TLG looks closer to Ico and Ico is mediocre at best.
