I had the oppurtunity to see Godzilla about a week ago, and I must say, as I long time Godzilla fan, I found it absolutely stunning. The special effects were phenomenal, the acting was great, the overall story was very entertaining, and, best of all, Gareth Edwards absolutely nailed Godzilla. Sure, I have a few minoir gripes here and there, but overall it was amazing and the US can finally say they have their own Godzilla. Hell, even the guys at Toho were in tears about how good the movie was. What did you you guys think of it?

Good overall movie but next time I want to see Godzilla more. Way to much focus on other things.

I enjoyed it. I thought the human side of it was kind of dull, generic military man and his wife and kid who are practically pointless. Bryan Cranston's character was the only one I cared about and that was short lived.

The monster designs were cool though and the fight scenes were good. The sound direction was the best part for me, absolutely incredible quality.

7/10

Yes I m a fan of the women's G-spot and I think the movie was pretty good... could have been better but could have been wayyyy worse

This.

Not nearly enough Godzilla fighting gloriousness.

I enjoyed it, and everyone played their parts well (although why would you kill off your best actor 1/3 of the way through the movie? Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen are fine actors, but they never showed the gravitas and commanded the screen like Bryan Cranston did.), but as far as a monster movie goes, I thought it couldn't stand up to the sheer awe and pure fun that Pacific Rim gave us last year.

Godzilla was stuck between pulpy Monster action movie (best part of this was when Godzilla used his irratiated breath on the female MUTO) and human drama in the midst of disaster movie (best part of this was the sky jump with the intense music and hellish world they were approaching), and therefore never fully succeeded at either.

Oh well, Godzilla himself was pretty awesome.

It was alright, but I've been spoiled by Pacific Rim.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I absolutely loved the movie. Helped cleanse the pallet after that last attempt. As others have said, I hope this opens up the series and we see more beat down in the future.

Better than I thought it would be. Definitely worth seeing if you want a good action movie. WAY better than pacific rim.

I'm about to go see it in about an hour. I'm a huge fan of the series. Watching the originals is always fun for me just like planet of the apes.
