Forums - Movies & TV - (Spoiler) Walking Dead (show) anyone a fan?, I just watched the first season...

It started good, not exactly "Must watch" but it was good enough and it got a bit better with time, and then the season 1 finale came... damn it was so stupid, they had to kill the black woman because she's just uninteresting, and the black guy is just "Oh is aight yo stay here i find anotha ho" and he goes on to do stereotypical black things, and that blonde girl who lost her sister she was somehow more important than that black woman so they are like "you got to leave now!!, you're going to die if you stay... oh and you can stay black woman who i don't know your name"

and lets not mention the clock thing, suddenly someone realizes there is a clock in the back that is ticking out of bloody nowhere it turned into "hey whats this clock ? -melodramatic moments-" " oh its just SELF DESTRUCTION MECHANISM... IN THE MIDDLE OF A FREAKING CITY... THAT IS TOTALLY FREAKING POINTLESS"

Not even doctor evil is this dumb, is this show aimed at rednecks ? because the characters are all dumb and argue about trivial things.

So i heard the first two seasons are the best and then it gets worse? or was it the other way around? , how bad can it get?

I really like The Walking Dead, a lot of people complain about season 2 being a bit slow but it picks up near the end and season 3 is pretty awesome in my opinion. Keep watching!

What do you rate the seasons in your opinion and do you agree the season finale of the first one is stupid?

the reason i started watching is because the people who made Breaking Bad made this as well.

I suggest you stop watching it, as in right now, if you don't like it so far - and given what you wrote, and how you seem to perceive the show, my conclusion is that you don't like it enough.

I don't get how it managed to be so succeessful. The show is painfully slow and during almost every episode nothing happens until the last "omg" scene. I managed to watch it for a season, as all my friends were really into it, but after watching the season 2 premiere, we were so disappointed that we stopped watching. There is a scene in a church that was laughably bad.

I used to like it but the latest season broke me, it was so awful and boring with only a couple of good scenes.

Only season I liked was the first one. Ever since they dropped Darabont as showrunner the series has gotten progressively worse.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I think the show was still trying to find its identity in Season 1, which was why the finale felt so out of place. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure all of us felt the same.

Season 2 is my favourite. Writing and performances were certainly at there peak then. Season 3 is nearly as good and Season 4 has it's moments, but the shitty writing and melodrama starts to set in again, even worse than it was in Season 1.

Season 1 for me is an 8 overall, it has a very unique spin on the genre and focuses more on drama and characters than actual splatter elements. Yeah, the ending in season 1 is nothing much, surely a letdown after a good overall season (for me).

Season 2 is also an 8 for me, it has a slower pace and this is around the time the producers started arguing with Darabont (who since left the show). Season 2 really is slow at times but has a couple of moments that really hits the nail on the head (you'll know them when they arrive) and there is some actual character development in the latter half. You are also introduced to one of the most likeable (imo) characters on the show and a terrific act at that. Finale is pretty good, certainly better than season 1's. I'd call season 2 "uneven".

Season 3 is a 7.5 for me, the beginning is quite exciting but there is a branching story that seems a bit meaningless to me and you are introuced to a slew of inconsequential characters that serve mostly to annoy, some of the character development of the main cast also annoys. Again; it has some redeeming moments which you will recognize and the season is worth watching for sure.

Season 4 was pretty cool and has a couple of extreme moments (one which is arguably the most emotional for me), it has some grade A acting and gives some newer characters actual purpose as well as a goal of sorts for the groups. Look out for old buddies from the cast of The Wire! Season 4's finale was good imo, perhaps the best so far. I'd rate season 4 another 8, it draws out certain aspects of the story but it has quite a few esisodes that are genuinely exciting and perhaps the best single episode on the show so far (imo).

In my opinion it's one of the best shows on TV. Losing Darabont was a big blow, but the show has managed to stay relevant, intelligent, unpredictable, and genuinely terrifying throughout.
