How do you feel about preorder bonuses (like unique weapons, or a free map pack)? I know a lot of people seem to hate it, but then there are others that like it. I personally am OK with it, early adopters getting unique items for buying the game early seems fair, but I can see why people wouldn't like it (it encourages people to buy games without knowing what they're like, no matter how crappy they are).

Yay. It's a lot better than publishers using online passes to make sure people buy new rather than used.

Nay cause what seems to happen very often these days is that either retailers or console companies get exclusive pre-order bonuses that prevent players from having the best experiences. The worst case would be the exclusive DLC ones. For example the ps4 is getting exclusive dlc in Watch_Dogs which is great for Sony fans but terrible for other fans. People should be able to play the same game across all consoles and should not be forced to choose one over the other based some nonsense exclusives. MS has also done this in the past as well!

Nay. It's poison if there's even a little bit of a collector in you.

On their own they are fine.

Coupled with review embargoes that end day of release - they are not.

This month I would theoretically be willing to pre-order both Wolfenstein and Watch Dogs a week in advance - if reviews were available then. But publishers no longer allow that.

Nay. Sometimes different regions get better pre-order bonuses than others...

Or some stores get exclusive Pre-order bonusses. Gamestop had Ghost (MW2 character) as a pre-order bonus for Ghosts, and Activsion just put it on sale (paid obviously) on Xbox, FFS!!!
