Something that i'm going to point out. Don't kill me.

IF the same level of US overtracking was done last week (10th May) for XB1 here in VGchartz... then the real XB1 numbers were 44k... Only 3k above the PS3.

(globally, not US)

And with botched Vita tracking, it is probable that Vita outsold X1 this week. By quite a bit, if we take 42.000 BL2 units from the software charts, and readjust X1 to a current realistic <30K per week.

"Recent VGC tracking has proven to be off by a huge margin. VGC's Borderlands 2 numbers are absolutely reliable."

I only just figured out your borderlands 2 hate it's because it's on the vita

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Yeah i agree. Sorry i was just getting a bit upset and the immature comment from that so called "insider". Absolutely people should call out Vgc, but while doing so, they need to have perspective as to what Vgchartz is. Vgchartz does not proclaim to have perfect tracking, add to that, the numbers are completely free. So yeah...i really dont see why people advocate for it to banned anywhere.

Hasn't ioi commented and said that their estimates are within a 10% margin of error? 10% is completely fine; that's far from the case here.

Havent seen him throw those exact percentages around in a long time. In any case i dont take what ioi says too seriously. He is the owner of the site so obviously he wants it to do well, i expect him to talk it up. And plus theres been times when Vgc's tracking has been great. So hey, for a free service why not talk it up?

But when you look at Vgchartz objectively i think it becomes clear what the real situation is. It also becomes clear that they have certain limitations etc. and they cant compete with the likes of NPD who must have a significantly larger sample size (at this stage im not even sure if Vgc has a sample at all).

It just takes a little common sense to understand the role Vgc plays. To actively try and get Vgc banned from a social platform is beyond me.

At the very least I hope NeoGaf respects the community here. I enjoy GAF a lot but when you see them talk numbers and sales its..........rough. There are so many people there that have no idea about trends or how to analyze sales data.

Great forum but Vgchartz is a superior community to discuss the actual financial side of the industry. Even though the Chartz numbers are off. I haven't read them in months.

To be honest Ben...the fact that we have you around gives us the biggest insider in the industry when it comes to sales data. Just about every one of your "hints" have turned out to be true. NO insider has your kinda record on GAF.

Did people really not see this coming as soon as they announced the Kinectless SKU?

They were always going to be bad numbers after Microsoft suddenly dropped the undroppable, integral, core feature of their multimedia machine.

Destiny is going to be massive. I was referring to biggest launch so far YTD.

You guys want a REAL bomb to drop?

I'm feeling generous.

Destiny PS4 pre-orders are already near the same level as Titanfall's were launch week.

LOL wtf is up with that? I seriously puzzled as to why people are so hyped for this game ? Whats the selling point for Destiny apart from Bungie.

That might be the answer. FPS usually do well and Bungie being on Sony platforms probably has people excited.

Yep but Titanfall was also a FPS...and if Destiny already has such huge numbers then it will dwarf Titanfall. And titanfall had a reall good opening week.

I just don't see why it would do that much better than Titanfall, from a game point of view. Looking at the trailers etc. destiny has come across pretty average.

Like I said it probably has a lot to do with Bungie. People are hoping, from what I've seen, that Destiny turns into the next Halo or something. They have high expectations because of the pedigree of the studio. I will agree though that the latest material they've shown off has been boring. I'm hoping their E3 showing is better and that the beta is fun.

Bundled copies don't count, even physical copies. Similar to Media Create, they never count NSMBU from bundles.

But Titanfall X1 still seems to be overtracked because ISS didn't chart in the NPD top 10 and sold more than TF.

Didn't they count Knack bundles?

EDIT: wrong

Knack wasn't in the top 10 in November and we only have the leaked numbers that are very similar to the vgc numbers.

People need to put Xb one price cut in inverted commas. It's not really a price cut if you pay less and get less. So the consumer reaction to this repositioning will be somewhat muted compared to an actual price cut of $100 where you pay less and get exactly the same product.

115K for Xb one looks Terrible, but I think that view is a little influenced by the vgc methodology struggling for new gen accuracy. If vgc had only overtracked by 50K or so the surprise would be a lot less.

Looks like UK is the only true Xbox territory.
