What, do you think Microsoft is gonna announce that they screwed up? Their sales didn't change, and the internet backlash was huge, if you didn't notice. In this case, I think my butt is a pretty damn reliable source.

Now dats damn reliable.

What a legendary phrase. I don't think any company has ever used a lack of sales as an opportunity to brag. This will go down in history as one of the greatest PR spins of all time, at least in my mind. Of course the logic is terrible, but that's what makes it all the more epic. Playstation fan or Xbox fan, I think we all can sit back and enjoy this glorious spin with a smile.

My only issue with the statement is that I didn't think of it first.

On what data or investigation he's basing on that players are more satisfied with the 360 than the ps3?

XB1 is selling less than PS4.

No, really, that is his logic. That and that PS4 is in more countries than the XB1.

If people weren't satisfied with their 360s and the XB1 was in as many countries as the PS4 the gap would be much smaller and/or the XB1 would be winning overall.

Makes you wonder then why they are in such a rush to drop the Kinect and slash $100 off the price after all the things they stated about how the Kinect was so integral to the XB1 experience.

This quote is absolutely terrific. It is just THAT bad that you have to sit back and really admire it.

The last time Final Fantasy did amazing in sales was on the PS1 and Dark Souls and Kingdom Hearts really never did amazing in sales when you compare them to sales of games in other genres.

Now you're just spouting nonsense. The FF XIII trilogy sold 8 million on the PS3 alone. Final Fantasy X sold 6.6 million (and that was only of 2004). Final Fantasy XII sold 6 million. Bravely Default sold around 1 million. Dark Souls sold around 3 million. And guess what? At least half, if not more, of those sales were in the west.

JRPGs are not niche. Not even close.

Sure keep on living in denial.  But the reallity is that they are a niche genre.  If they where not then a majority of people on this site would know who the chararter in my avatar is.  Also 8 million across three titles really isn't much every major FF title on the PS1 sold more then that by itself.

What's the name of the main character of Resistance?

I don't know. I guess shooters are niche too.

Nathan Hale and I'm pretty sure that a lot more people know that then the characters name of my avatar.  As a matter of fact most people probably have no clue what game the avatar that I use is from.

Are you seriously using that argument to prove that JRPG's are niche? Really?

JRPG's are definitely way smaller than they used to be,I wouldn't call it a niche genre but yeah it's not big anymore, but this argument of yours is just beautiful.

Atually they are a lot less popular then they used to be and overall they are definetly a niche genre.  Even when they where more popular they where somewhat of a niche genere since a lot of them never made it out of Japan.

I don't know a main character name or name of a game from every genre of games that exists. All genres are niche confirmed.

This statement from that exec is really ridiculous. I'm also amazed that there are people defending it...

I'm glad I don't listen to any of the execs from any company and just buy games that interests me for any console I deem worthy of purchase.
