Fun fact: you still can't buy an Xbox One here in the Netherlands (I don't even get why, it's not like we don't buy games..) Unless you import it from another country.

Pretty sure Netherlands is one of the September countries.

Indeed. Can you explain why there even are September countries? It's odd to me, and here people are obviousily buying a PS4 now..

It'll be a boost for maybe the first month, and then it'll go back to the PS4 dominating in all the regions but the UK.

I assume they didn't have the resources or the stock to launch in a ton of countries at release, so they concentrated on those 13 core countries where Xbox sales have been the strongest in the past. As for why it has taken so long after launch to release in more countries, I assume that they have been trying to get Kinect language support and other localized features working in those countries before they release there.

That is correct, it's not released in Norway, where I am, either. I feel it's a little bit wasted time because now many people here won't even buy the Kinect, and all the translation efforts to make it recognize the languages here wasn't needed for many people.

Fun fact: All stores here have been selling XOne games for many months already, and consoles are easy to find. The big stores have been importing it (so Norwegian languages are not supported of course), and Microsoft has responded positively to that!

Yep.

Barely noticeable.

The countries where the X1 hasnt launched yet are irreversably lost. The UK might have a bit of a positive effect, but in the rest of europe the choice is clear. Playstation 4. Even during the PS3 era europe turned back to the PS3. Its unthinkable the situation will change with the PS4.

Also, the tastes of continental europe as its differences from the US/UK one. Just shooters isnt enough for everyone. And Playstation is seen as both family brand for the children and a hardcore brand for its association with the chapions league.
The Xbox has no chance in europe. They failed to build the brand. Its just a "nerd" box here.

sales will go up,that is why Xbox is dumping kinect and cutting the price i guess to get sales up

Another reason why Kinect was a terrible idea! Takes one extra year to release to the rest of the world. Microsoft has done EVERYTHING wrong this generation.. It really shows the strength of the Xbox brand that they have been able to be this successful with the One while making this many mistakes. Of course, this is nothing new for Xbox. See RROD and charging for online for the last 8 years while PS3 was free. Amazing when you think about it. In other news, people are really dumb

I can get a X1 including kinect and Titanfall for 440€ So unless the kinectless Xone without game is 350€ it wont help.

Well yeah, but those are imports. I'm talking about non-imports. Also, Eindhoven is awesome :D
