Sony's playbook? Doubt Microsoft is looking to lose money on their gaming division...

Does MS even have a "gaming division"?

They do, but they depend on outsiders so much we forget they actually publish games sometimes.

Let's see how this plays out.

Sony is thinking like Microsoft. Dangle a carrot and the people will pay you to get what they want. I bitched about PSN Plus but eventually I got used to Sony (like Microsoft)having to use payment tactics to survive. They didnt copy MS but they redefined what it meant to have a premium service. If they truly copied MS then PSN Plus would be Xbox Live.

Even IGN wrote an article admitting just recently that Microsoft is using Sonys playbook to beat them. Its the same thing with the 360. Microsoft learned from Sony in the first generations that amassing third party is the key to success.

Oh, of course. Speaking of playbooks, this is bread and butter play #1 out of the STAGE playbook. Any time Sony does something to contradict what he used to bitch about with MS, it's not really Sony's fault, they were basically somehow forced into the position by MS. But somehow they made it different enough to where it's kind of ok for them to do what it was so terrible for Microsoft to do. LOL.

And yeah dude we know about that article. What do you think spurred the creation of this thread and this discussion everyone is having? The article is in the OP.

You like to forget anyway, since it suits your agenda. But silly, he's talking about a gaming division in financial reports. And the answer is no, they have the E&D division.

I don't mind biased people as long as they are aware of and admit to their bias.

S.T.A.G.E., unfortunately is not one of those people.

All I can say about what's going on right now at the XBox division is:

Thank God for Phil Spencer. He's the best thing that has happened to the division since its creation.

I saw that article on IGN, C. M. is a huge Sony fanboy so the objectivity of the article is very close to none.

If anything for this generation, Sony used Microsoft's playbook for the PS4 while Microsoft tried to push for innovation while finally coming back with the same "playbook" they had with the 360.

The only thing being the Live requirement for gold but then again, why call it "Sony" playbook while other players (Nintendo, PC?) are doing the same from years now... Also no mention to Sony adding a paywall for MP, was that originally in Sony's playbook?

The fact still stands that Microsoft is adjusting to Sony, not to Nintendo or the PC.

But that's just like you to react this way.
