Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Using Sony's Playbook, Microsoft Will Attempt Xbox One's Turnaround

Agree and partly what Nintendo needs to do. (NOT in the hardware/game front...)

However, they shouldn't look at MSony. They need to look at Google/Apple. They need to copy their online structure and online store platform. They need to copy their digital software sharing structure. They need to copy their single account system (especially google on this) where you can login from any device and BAM all your shit is there.

Do this Nintendo and do it in this summer/fall's update. Reap the reward of a better online system than all.

Then add apps for functionality you didn't want to add originally. An app for Bluray movie support (allows customer to pay for royalties). An app for music playback (again pass royalties to user). ... and so on.

WiiU gampad and architecture already supports this as does its SDK. Just do it Nintendo.

I'm not sure if I agree. Personally, I hate the whole 'one acocunt, one google' strategy, I really don't like having email and youtube mixed

Definitely the second place console. Thank god for competition because if it was not for Sony right now MS will be trying to get away with all of their previous policies.

Are we just going to ignore direct ways sony has copied MSFT:
-internal hard drives
-psn modeled after xbl
-Indies self publishing from xbox arcade
-Apps on consoles
-PC like architecture
-trophies directly copied from achievements
-party chat
-Controller triggers

If Nintendo has learned anything, then they will do none of the things you guys are saying. Especially your suggestion is already proven false by history, namely the GameCube.

I can't believe that you really believe that.  They should have had an account system set up years ago after seeing how popular it was with Xbox and Playstation.  They should have improved their online infrastructure when the Xbox showed how important that would become.  They should have improved their online store experience long ago.  They should have diversified their game output, they should have been working to improve their relationships with western developers.  These are areas of success for Sony and Microsoft that are as plain as day.  Replicating these areas of success, which most customers wanted, would have done nothing to stifle Nintendo's creativity.  The only effect would have been to more level the playing field.

Well, since the point of the article is pretty much that copying is one of the smartest things you can possibly do in business ...

Not exactly what I was talking about... but create two accounts. Fixed. Don't understand why people cry about that....

He's not referring to the account system, etc. He's referring to a high-cost machine focused on power and core gamer style. The general philosophy of the machine, not the specific finer details.

In other words create another Wii not Gamecube.

This is why I stick with PlayStation. All MS does is copy Sony, so why not stick with the original? Xbox has always been a poor man's PlayStation.

Moderated,

Not really? ps has copied too. playstation copied with move (wii- like), lbp kart (mario kart), battle royale(smash bros, party chat, triggers, and indents into analog sticks. Ms has done great things for online gaming and controllers. Ms has copied, sony has copied, even i bet nintendo has copied. its good for the consumers anyways?

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

Turn around would mean the Xbox One would become the number 1 selling system. I do not see how that is possible even with a $100 price cut.
