Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Why didn't MS leave the pricecut and app announcement for their E3 conference?

Because their list of games they are showing at E3 is immense.

I would rather have Microsoft spend more time dedicated to games and other gaming information at E3.

Why does it matter?

Because E3 is about games, and the focus for their E3 should be about the games, and not about people finding out about a price cut.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Serious question. Would have been a pretty big crowd pleaser and I don't think anyone can tell me that they couldn't find the 5 minutes to fit that announcement in their conference.

The only thing I can imagine is that they want to lower the amount of people that buy a PS4 instead of an X1 because of the price difference in the next couple weeks, since I'd say most people are more willing to wait 3 weeks than an indefinite amount of time, but I'd say that number would easily be countered by the number of people that were going to buy a X1 at $500 and are now waiting a couple more weeks to get it at $400 instead.

So...why?

Because to the majority of the Xbox One gaming community dropping the Kinect is about the worst decision ever.   Sure it would have been met with a few cheers at E3.  But moreso, it would have been meet with boos and screams to get rid of Phil.

People the bought into the vision of Xbox One and early adoptors are not happy at all.

I don't see the point of getting and Xbox One without Kinect.  I'd just stay on PC and get a controller.  Kinect was this gen's innovation.  I'm not sure what it is now.

The last thing they want is people yelling and throwing things at E3.  Which is exactly what this disaster would have cause to happen.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

I think it's pretty obvious why they announced this, now. April NPD is getting released in a couple of days and things aren't going to be looking too good for the One. Wouldn't be surprised to see something along January's numbers. This is just so people don't panic, as the fix is on the way. Of course, May is going to be HORRIBLE for One sales.

And given that the $399 One is only #85 on Bestsellers for the hour, I don't think the price cut is going to do much good in the end.

It doesn't come out for a month. Who would preorder this now?

Anyone who was wanting an Kinectless Xbox One.  The fact that it hasn't sold out and is only at #85 means for probably about the first time I am agreeing with thismeintiel  I don't think this is going to help Xbox at all.

They already said that they wanted to concentrate on games at the E3!!!

Because they probably have alot to show at E3, need to get some of the good stuff outta the way.

Laughing hard at people that think they took it out because too many games, MS will definitely be talking about this new SKU and the price drop during there E3 conference.

And yes lots of games too.

I disagree with that, but I respect that you're sticking with your guns regarding this.
