Yeah.. This is exactly not what I wanted. It's irritating to see Microsoft giving up on Kinect. I guess they don't really believe in themselves now. -.-

lol really. Listening to their customer is always good news. More choice is always good news. Not like they are discontinuing the kinect sku.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I have to say that I'm pretty surprised, as I didn't think that they would drop Kinect since it is one of Xbox One's major ways that it differentiates itself from the competition. Now I'm curious if they'll change the marketing for the Xbox One, as many of its advertisements up until now have featured Kinect in some form (e.g., often an actor in their commercials will say a voice command).

$399.. kinect-less console.. and still weaker than a ps4.. what will be the selling point to consumers now?

Games maybe?

lol.. touche.. but still.. before the kinect integration was the selling point and the justification for the extra $100.. it was something that the PS4 lacked... now even though you're on parity with the pricing points, hardware is still weaker.. game wise, avg. consumer likes diversity, which MS historically lacks compared to competitors (not everyone is a dude bro gamer, especially if buying a system for the family).. and too add, multiplats will always look better on the other platform.  just asking.. what's the new selling point?

Man.. I hate it when your girl has to leave my place to come back to you..

Finally offer that option. Why couldn't they offer this from launch? Their offering the PS+ approach with X1 games as well. Good to see. Thank Sony for that.

this just makes a potential $50 ps4 price cut at e3 sting that little bit more.

anyone thinking this move is truly about giving the gamer "choice"  and not about "shit shit shiiit,  we need to fix sales asap"  are seriously the type of people i want for my pyramid sche- i mean..  my investment program.

And the choice between a $500 console with Kinect and a $400 console without Kinect won't help fix the sales? Isn't this the exact choice that has been helping PS4 thus far? I don't think your pyramid scheme is going to work.

I smell shit... It seems some people on this thread are scared! Xbox domination is at hand.

349$ would be a Megaton but still 399$ is good I guess.

The Kinect enabled version will still be on sale, no?

It didn´t work that well for Kinect360 after the first year.

The problem is that developers refused to invest the way Microsoft thought it would be optimal. And the last year bad PR destroied any bridge with hardcore audience.

Know the hope is gone. We will have a new generation that is just more powerfull graphicaly than the previous one.

However, on the smarphone/tablets side...

PS: VR will be the next fad, but I wouldn´t have any hope now, seeing how the comunity is against evolution.

they will cut this price soon.
300$ would be the right choice.
