Even if you only want to count direct government bailouts... Japan has had plenty of those.

That is what I'm talking about. I have to give Kaz and his team credit for taking the necessary steps to avoid that.

I don't think Kaz and the management make enough money to where it actually makes a differnece.

This is just something CEOS do sometimes as  a symbolic gesture.

CEO's generally don't even make the majority of their money in pay in the first place.

Examples...

Honor. Something most big American corporations lost the understanding of. When companies are falling in America all you hear is about CEO's getting bonuses ever since the economic collapse. Kudos to Iwata and Hirai for both respectively taking pay cuts when their companies went through financial turmoil.

In fairness, Pandit didn’t receive a bonus in cash or stock last year, and he worked for a relatively pedestrian $125,001 salary for 2009. In February of that year, he agreed to work for $1 a year, and he pledge to take the salary until Citigroup was profitable again. The bank this week posted $10.6 billion in net income for 2010.

Again... this is such garbage.  There are many examples of Western CEO's taking pay cuts or... hey... you know being fired for fucking their companies up.

Kzz should be fired if he hasnt turned this around in another 12 months.  He will have had 3 years and many broken promises.  Iwata should have already been fired.

The companies woes come from the PC end of the corporation. They need to sell it off. I have no idea what Kaz needs to be fired for. You're sounding extremely sour.

This is nice to see.

I'm not pretending to be an expert here but if sony were to focus solely on the playstation brand wouldn't they have to lay off thousands of people and due to there financial situation be completely fucked if they were to make a single mistake. just because the playstation brand is popular now does not mean that it will always be popular.

We are talking two different things.  You're talking Sony as a whole and I'm talking game division.  "Yawn"

Yeah, Sony as a whole is very succesful. Riiiiiight.

Wrong!  If that's true then Sony CEO-excutives won't need a paycut.  Riiiiiight.

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

This why i think consoles need a longer shelf now, stop coming out with a console every 5 years they will be killing the video game industry if they do. I say 7 at minimum , 9 maximum. Its hard for CEO s who never founded the company to think outside a box once in awhile.

Kaz Hirai is following the way of Iwata. Does this mean he'll start hosting Sony Directs?
