Forums - Gaming Discussion - Breaking: MS removing Gold requirements for Xbox Live Apps

Microsoft giveth and Microsoft taketh away.

Good that Xb one global struggles is forcing MS to do what they should have done from the outset, but putting other things behind the paywall seems odd. But I guess we have to see what things will end up behind the paywall before Xb users can judge whether it's a net benefit.

Competition is good news. A company under pressure is a consumers best friend.

Well done, MS, a step in the right direction. Extremely late but it's in the right direction.

Hmm, pie.

That's good but I don't see this as huge news. Perhaps a few more people might buy a 360 to use Netflix on their TV.

i think they are putting there tv shows behind gold

That much was a given, though. Unless theyre planning to have ads on their shows. They gotta make that money back somehow.

What else do they even have that isnt already behind a paywall?

knowing microsoft im betting it will have ads and be behind a paywall.

What has this to do with MS? In Germany Sky is a paid service and you get ads whenever possible to them. Nothing unusual here.

since we were talking about microsofts show's on microsofts paid service i would have to say that it has everything to do with microsoft. in fact the question is, what does Sky in germany have anything to do with this?

It is rather abnormal to be a paid service and don't have ads..

It seems to huge news for some people, it currently has 18.5k upvotes on Reddit.

OT: Good for Xbox fans, "losing" has its perks, doesn't it. ;)
