the way you describe him he comes of as somebody who doesn't have any real friends and just tries to belong/please the people he is around by saying something they like to hear

ofcourse I have no way of knowing if he really is that way, but if that's how you perceive that person then I don't know why you would bother to have him as a friend to be honest

I always enjoyed talking to him, he is always responsive and we like a lot of the same games.

I'm actually in a somewhat same position my best friend for years always likes to take jabs a MS whenever the chances arrive, which was funy because he used to play the hell out of ME(before it came to PS3) and gears 1-3 and Halo. I'd always ask him why he played it if he didn't like the 360 and he'd always reply with "These are the only games worth playing on 360" and even me; also a Sony fan I get tired of it time to time but I've learned to deal with it...besides other than being my best friend he's always my wingman when it come to MP

For a second there, I thought I was that "friend"!! I had a similar experience recently.  I don't like Gran Turismo and I don't talk a lot of mess about anybody, though. I do openly admit that Sony is my least favorite console maker, though. Nintendo is my favorite. Anyway, my buying practice went in this order:

7th gen

-1st DS in 2004 (launch)
-1st Xbox 360 in early 2007
-Wii in early 2008
-1st PS3 in 2008 (MGS4 midnight launch)
-PSP in July 2009

8th gen

-3DS in 2011 (Oot3D launch)
-Vita in 2012 (launch day)
-Wii U in 2012 (launch)
-PS4 in early 2014
-Xbox One in early 2014

Anyway, before the launch of the PS4/Xbox One, some guy kept messaging me on 360 about how awesome the PS4 was and how Microsoft was doomed. How stupid I was for liking Tomb Raider more than Uncharted when Uncharted goes all over the world and Tomb Raider is just on one island. How the Xbox One would be doa, not have a headset, etc. and how Gears of War Judgement was going to have too many Micro transactions. Needless to say, it got pretty old. I never fired back, though. I just said, "Dude? Why are you attacking me for what I like?" and "I'm probably gonna own all the consoles, anyway."

THEN he started sending me messages via PSN and trashing members on this site as well. I then learned he was a member of VGChartz. Anyway, the anti-Microsoft stuff continued and the Pro-Sony stuff did too. Didn't really matter to me because I already know what I like and nobody's outside opinion can influence what I want to play when I'm in my game room. Anyway, one day I messaged him, "I got a PS4!" and all was quiet. Then a month later, I messaged "Now I have an Xbox One!"

Why did I say that?

I was verbally assaulted and called stupid and whatever else. I actually saved the messages on my Vita using the screen capture options. I wound up blocking the guy. It's just crazy to see how people react when it comes to video games. Hell, at this point in time, I'm not even sure I like video games very much. I've been finding so many other ways to stay busy. Some people need to take a step back, take a deep breath, and just learn to have fun.

For the record, if I could only keep one console, it would go in this order:
7th gen: Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, DS, Wii
8th gen: Wii U, 3DS, Vita, Xbox One, PS4

We all have our bias but I don't think I'm blinded by them. I just like what I like.

Sounds like you knew the answer to the question before you made the thread. That said, hypocrisy is part of the human condition. People know right and wrong, yet live their lives in ways (large and small), that contradict their beliefs.

Now someone could hate a certain corporation, but if they back it up properly, then it can be taken seriously. If they are baseless and for the sake of just hating, then it can't be taken seriously.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

If he was a good friend then there is no reason not to talk to him and see what's wrong with him. If he was one of those "backup" friends then you are better of without him.

well in his defence, i wouldnt want to be friends with a psychopath who cannot process his emotions in any reasonable manner and lacks any form of logical judgment. i mean what kind of sane man voluntarily buys a vita?

I only have a Xbox Live Gamertag (I was shocked to know he had actually played quite a few 360 games) and a couple of PSN IDs (Seems to only own a Vita at this point).  I even have a couple of shirtless pics he sent via Vita!  That was pretty weird..... He said he comes to VGChartz for a laugh because certain members whom I shall not name were so stupid.  But nah, I won't give out any of the Gaming IDs and if I knew his VGChartz alias, I wouldn't give it out either.  Not my style.  I wonder what his life is like, though.  Wish there were a documentary on guys like that.

well if he was sending shirtless pics to strangers on the internet, imagine what he would be wearing the entire documentary while they film him at his home.

Anyone familar with D21Lewis knows he likes Tomb Raider over 3 Uncharted games is because of them big , fat titties!

@d21lewis, that guys sounds crazy. I don't think you realized it was me but I sent you a message on Wii U asking if you liked Zapp Brannigan because I saw your Mii in Super Mario 3D World. Your name is pretty specific so I thought it was you.
