Nobody in their right mind thinks MK8 won't move hardware.

It will move hardware, but not a ressurgence. Not even close. The console won't see 100K per week, not even on launch week.

So let me get this straight. You actually believe that MK8 wont help move 100K Wii U's for it's launch week? Are you being serious?

Do you see me laughing? Of course i'm serious. It's like you haven't seen the state of the console we're talking about!!

I'm well aware of state the Wii U is in right now. I just find your prediction (or lack of one) utterly absurd. Even SM3DW managed to  boost sales over 100K and that game had nowhere near the appeal or hype of MK8. There is also no way on earth that there will not be 100K weeks in November/December.

Of course it will do that in november and december, i was talking about the month of may.

The way you worded it sounded different. Anyways, even with only 2 days on the market for the week ending May 31st, it should still manage to hit 100K and at least hold it until the week ending June 6th. After that I can see sales gradually declining over the summer until the holiday season.

what to expect?
i think wii U will be above ps4 in MK8 launch week. id say 150k.

then a fall below 100k in secind week and above.
hopelly, will keep above ps vita for the rest of gen.

What kind of boost do you expect OP?

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

I feel that Nintendo might get a boost of sales for Mario Kart, but definitely not for Smash Bros.

It was an absolute mistake to sell the 3DS one in summer and Wii U one in winter.

Who's going to want that one when you could've played the same game 6 months ago on the already extremely popular console that costs less?

Also, tis definitely NOT the time to buy, as the only game you know for sure is on the horizon is Smash for Winter.

When is Bayo coming out? Or X? They haven't released that info, and it could come out in 2015 for all we know.

Wait til after E3 to tell people to get a Wii U.

No it still costs to much for what it is. Smash Bros isn't nearly as big of a game as Mario Kart either. I don't know why people (OP included) think Smash will push a console. Maybe in Japan it might push some WiiUs.

Edit: After reading this article it seems a huge Nintendo fanboy wrote it. Who actually believes this?

I'll be back for the Smash Bros release when it sells out preorders Worldwide. Lol.

Read the article you posted, read it. MK8 is not selling out of pre orders. The limited edition bundle with the blue shell is sold out, at the Nintendo store, that's it.

The whole premise of your thread, which is: "look people MK8 is selling console bundles, didn't think that would happen, huh?", is completely flawed since it's based on an article that doesn't even talk about what you're saying.

This thread may go some way to answering that, and suggests that Nintendo's SSB strategy will pay off.

We'll see, but the game itself is also #1 bestseller on Amazon, not the Special Edition.

Who said it won't boost hardware sales? I want to see some quotes. No, seriously, who said that?
