Forums - Microsoft Discussion - One thing I don't like about the Xbox One Controller

I don't understand why they didn't implement internal rechargeable batteries in that $100 million R&D budget they had for the XBO controller. With such an implementation they would have a consistent way of knowing how much battery power is left.

With consumers plopping in their own batteries, from the single use to different kinds of rechargeable, not sure how they could check battery level with any kind of accuracy.

I agree, my controller has died several times in the middle of playing. That never happened to me on 360.

Warnings are for pussies! Real men play without warnings, get with the program dude! (jk)

Maybe in a later patch, like when they release dem Windows Drivers, they will fix that too

XO battery power in general is rubbish. If you take a ''dead'' battery and put it in a 360 controller or remote control it plays just fine. Not sure why the controller decided to turn off when there is plenty of life left in it.

Wtf MS, I thought they patched this? Hopefully this comes as a patch as that is annoying.
And agreed, my favorite controller on the market, but that was a big oversight...

The patch was to show battery life, not when it will die on you.

The inclusion of batteries was the stupidest thing. Announcing tht they spent $100M researching was next. Like they cheaped out on the battery choice. The bumpers I've gotten used to. Didn't like them at first at all
