Interesting indeed. I know I'll be buying lots of those, but I am not expecting Nintendo to come up with Fzero or Star fox figurines on a first or second batch unfortunately...

Well hey, if they do figurines for Smash, Fox should be fairly soon. If they do it by franchise, obviously Mario first, Zelda second, but what other franchise (besides Pokemon) has enough characters to have it's own batch? Worst case scenario, Star Fox would be third batch. He's a Smash veteran since the first game, and I'm pretty positive they're going to do something with Smash. Same logic applies to Captain Falcon.

Well I hope you are right on that one.

I do not believe they will release lots of figurines right from the start. Maybe 5-6 then another 5...

I doubt they'd release Fire Emblem before Star Fox. And Samus would be paired with Fox, Captain Falcon, and the other space characters. I think if they do things like you're saying, it'd go more like this. They release two batches at once to start out:

Mario-Luigi-Yoshi-Bowser-Peach-Rosalina

Adult Link-Zelda-Shiek-Toon Link- Ganon

Then if these do well, they release a couple more character sets:

Kirby-Dedede-Meta Knight-DK-Diddy

Fox-Falco-Captain Falcon-Samus-Ness

And they keep periodically releasing new sets to support the platform. However, they'd also release them to be sold individually as well. Really, there's a lot of ways they could do it. It doesn't matter all that much, so long as eventually the right figurines release.

YEEEEEEESSSSS!!!!!

Should have been a option for kid Icarus U buuuuuutttt starfox needs it first.

Gah, forgot that one too! Oh well, no worries though, if they're doing Smash compatibility with the figurines, Sakurai will make sure Pit gets made.

Nintendo is already making a Star Fox & Metroid & F-Zero (well, working on F-Zero) for the Wii U.

The F-Zero game will be the last one most likely, so after Wii U, no more.

I personally hope they are making any Star Fox & Metroid for 3DS, and I can see that a Metroid will most likely come to 3DS realistically.

So don't worry, but the F-Zero game might come out in 2020 on their next Home Console, depending on how long it takes them to come up with everything else for the final F-Zero game.

Do you have any sources for Nintendo making Star Fox and F-Zero? They've hinted at Metroid enough that I mostly just threw that in here as a talking point, but I haven't seen anything for the other two. I'd be interested to know what makes you think that they're coming, because that would be wonderful news. Also, regarding the OP, do you think it's a viable idea? If not for Star Fox, Metroid, or F-Zero, could it work for something else? I have a few suggestions in the poll, like a Wii U Fire Emblem, a full 3D Kirby game (like Air Ride, but a platformer), getting a less popular character their own spinoff, or petitioning for a less likely character figurine, then buying that to get a Japan exclusive title ported. Some other people suggested buying Ness for Mother games and Pit for Kid Icarus U. There's got to be something we could apply this method to.

Well, Kid Icarus is a 3D exclusive, but maybe if most gamers start owning a 3D TV, LOL.

Mother is a long shot. Maybe we get lucky with the Next Gen Nintendo Systems.

Fire Emblem solo, has probably been confirm, I believe.

They hinted just as much about Star Fox on Wii U as Metriod on Wii U. These 2 games seem guaranteed by what I have read about their interest for making them for Wii U. I believe I read a Miyamoto statement about how he has been coming up with tons of ideas for these 2 games. But he didn't promise, but it sounds like during the Wii U lifespam for them to be release.

I already explain F-Zero.

A Kirby game on Wii U I guess will happen, but can't guarantee your specific wish.

They did confirm that other Mario characters besides Luigi are plan to have their own games in the unknown future. Specifically Toad & Peach & Yoshi are the only characters confirm so far to get their own games per character.

Eh, I don't think I'll even be interested in any of their NFC stuff. =/

You say that now, but you don't know what they're doing with it. Assume it was just 4 bucks a figurine, and added a bit of gameplay to Smash, or some other game. Why wouldn't you buy it, if it were also contributing to a campaign like this? It's not about being a diehard fan of the NFC game or any gameplay features the figurines might add, it's about being a diehard fan of a particular Nintendo IP and wanting to send a message to Nintendo that you want to see more of it!

Please tell me you're not seriously hoping it'll be just $4 per figure? will be like every other figure based system, will start off $15 a figure, the popular stuff will stay that or go higher and the characters nobody likes will be all over the place and drop in price to try and sell.

Expect luigi to be $8 all over the place and nobody wanting it, Samus barely anywhere and going for above retail when you do find it.

that's just how figure based shit goes.

thats a stupid idea, we all will buy zero samus anyway^^

LOL! That's hilarious. Anyway, the OP was very well written. I never even thought about all that before but it might actually work. We won't know until we try it. Seeing as I started gaming in the Gameboy Color and N64 era, I don't care much for most of the older, ignored franchises now. I'd just push for a new Metroid.

Perhaps, I was mostly basing that $4 figure on Nintendo's past behavior with Pokemon Rumble U. It doesn't seem to have that pricing anymore, as many places have stopped selling them and the price skyrocketed as a result, but I've seen multiple quotes of $4 by different people. I remember reading some user reviews saying as much, like one guy saying that though the game was crap, his kids enjoyed it, and for $4 a toy it wasn't too bad, so he thought it was worth it to buy for your kids if they're interested. Another user on here was saying that they started out at $4. I honestly don't remember because I payed no attention to the game when it released, but it seems the figurines did indeed cost $4 each. So yeah, I'm seriously hoping for $4, but that doesn't mean I expect it. Even if we're lucky and Nintendo repeats its past behavior and it does release at $4, I'm sure the more popular figurines will go up in price, as you said. But if we want Nintendo to make a Star Fox game, it wouldn't be too bad, since the Fox and Falco figurines probably won't sell well enough to rocket up in price. Even Luigi will be more popular than them, thanks to the influence of Luigi's Mansion and the year of Luigi. Samus might be hard to find though, but Nintendo would have to be insane not to make a Metroid game, so I'm not worried about that.
