Just out of interest, how many months does VGC have to get it wrong before you start to question their numbers? 3 months? 5 months? 10 months? Indefinitely?

You really aren't in a postion to be questioning those that have been right. Your energy is best spent finding out why they HAVE BEEN right.

In the end, people are just seeing the numbers for what they are. When they are adjusted, so will the mindsets of the people that bragged before. Praising people who called foul, even if they turned out right, is just praising pessimism in general. Better to take the numbers as we see them and adjust ourselves accordingly "if" they are changed.

I'm sorry but that's very strange logic. Questioning the numbers based on trends to date and NPD results isn't 'pessimistic', it's logical thinking. Ignoring those trends and just automatically believing the numbers without question is narrow minded, or 'optimistic'. There's some very odd rational going on in these sales threads just lately.

All that tells me is that certain people here now have a safety net to "always be right"/"be right even when wrong at the moment".

Seriously, I'm at a loss to understand your thinking. If you are constantly wrong then the only natural question is 'why?' Having a 'perhaps they're right this week' attitude is somewhat pedestrain and none productive. However, if you view those that question as a firing squad then yes, a blindfold is appropriate.

The onus isn't on those people who keep getting it right, the onus is on those people who question those people who keep gettin it right. Why are people questioning THEM? Why are people doubting THEM? Why are people ignoring THEM? Why are people calling THEM children? They're RIGHT.

don't really trust vgc numbers at all..diablo 3 on PC way past 3 mill..not to mention other games..doubt its any different for hardware

I question their numbers, i don´t even trust them anymore. But even if they were wrong a thousand or a million times before, that doesn´t mean they will be wrong this or any other week. The inteligent thing is to wait every month for the NPD result; without trusting them or assuming they´re wrong.

The inteligent thing isn't to wait,  the inteligent thing is the ask why VGC is constantly undertracking the American numbers. You're calling for people to stop thinking for themselves. How is that inteligent? Amazon has been right every month and VGC has been wrong every month. This month the X1 is beating the PS4 after a month that saw their biggest title launch and still couldn't outsell the PS 4 in America. Why would April be better than March? It just doesn't make sense.

This is the basis people are doubting the numbers from, not wishful thinking or fanboyism.
