Heh I'm a sucker for those kinds of games. Still sceptical, it's a debut game from a new Russian studio, what can go wrong, right? but the premise sounds very interesting, if it will look good I will definitely buy it.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Our players are the heart and soul of DRIVECLUB, and when the game begins October 7th, Evolution Studios will be going all out to keep the experience fresh and exciting for all of you.

We’re determined to build up a lively community of millions of connected racers around you, so our post-launch development will be influenced by what you do in the game and the feedback you share with us. New content, improvements, and updates will all be shaped by you and everyone you play with. And of course, we’re going to do our best to keep surprising you with our own creativity, too!

In fact, thanks to all of the players we’ve met and talked to already, our mission has already started.

We’re already working hard to develop free updates that will introduce a powerful weather system (that you can play around with to change the dynamics of every race) and a photo mode, because they’ve both been requested ever since we first showed how you can control the time of day and skies in the game.

And even though we’ve already got 55 routes over 25 tracks in the game, we’ll be bringing you more new tracks to enjoy and all of them will be free.

We’ll also keep adding more of the world’s best cars to the game and we’ll give you one car every month, as a free series running from October 2014 to June 2015.

For those who want even more, we’re making a full calendar of new release DLC that will run deep into 2015. This will let you buy packs of new cars and new campaign tour expansions, to give you more to play for each month. This calendar will start in November 2014 with every pack offering new challenges to play and new Trophies for you to earn.

There will also be a Season Pass available for $24.99* so that you can pre-order the DLC packs and get huge savings. In fact, it works out that with the Season Pass you’ll save more than 60% on the cost of purchasing these packs individually, as the total value of the packs will be $75.84*.

And the best part? All of this is just the start! We keep saying “DRIVECLUB begins on October 7th 2014″ because we don’t know exactly how the game will evolve with each update until you get your hands on the game and start playing!

We hope you’re as excited about this as we are. We can’t wait to shape the future of DRIVECLUB with you! Are you on board and are you bringing your friends along with you?

so 9 free cars? sweet. i hope those apply to those that own the PS+ version.

Driveclub has gone gold. Really looking forward to the demo, definite buy if it is any good, need a racer on PS4 and nothing else interests me right now.

Hopefully it will sell well and Sony advertise it strongly, but even so with the delay I have a feeling we will hear about a downsizing after release

i think if the game scores well they wont downsize. Evolution flopped with motorstorm apocalypse and they went on to make their most ambitions project ever. i hope it doesnt flop though, i can see it having legs with a good score. the thing is, the PS+ edition will really hurt sales IMO.

So I'm curious, after the worries of last week, how has PSN been holding up with the Destiny launch? I haven't really heard anything about the system being down, but maybe I just didn't pay enough attention.

I can't make my mind up about whether the demo was a good idea or not.  There will be definitely be some people who were not interested who will give the demo a go and like it enough to buy the full version, but there will also be people who will get their fill of the demo and not feel the need to buy the full game, or just not like it.  I think it will do well to get to a million frankly

Hardly any issues at all.  Some people could not log in for like 30 minutes and some slowdown but those issues are nothing for a big game release like Destiny... PSN is holding up quite well.

i think it was a good idea when it was a launch title. Nov they would have had the first wave of people playing the game from PS+, some people buying it and other would have had their fill, but still play it. in Dec they would remove the game from PS+, and sales would pick up. and just a few people got it from PS+ and Sony could say they had AAA games on PS+.

but now, they made a promise and cant break it, 5M+ people have PS+ and will probaby be closer to 6M when the game releases. thats too big of a number of people having the PS+ edition, a minorty will buy the upgrade, specially since its 50$ (should have made it 35$). it sales will suffer, but hopefully in Nov and Dec when sony remove it from PS+ it will have some good legs.
