The Crash Bandicoot trilogy sold more than the Uncharted trilogy, so that's lie #1 (on a console that was rampant with piracy no less). The only Crash Bandicoot game on metacritic that was made by them has 91%. The other 2 in the trilogy are sadly not listed on metacritic. The first Uncharted had 88% and the last had 92%. So that's lie #2.

As for their standing in the industry, the longer you produce quality games in the industry, the more your reputation will rise. They were a new and (relatively) unproven studio during the Crash Bandicoot days.

I see you completely forgot to mention The Last of Us, the game created when Naughty Dog grew to a size where two teams could create multiple projects at the same time. The Last of Us breezed by the 8 Million unit marker back in September. That total is more than any Crash Bandicoot title managed to reach and the game is still selling.

When you look at Metacritic, things will be skewed because of a lack of data. You really want to use GameRankings.

Crash Bandicoot sits at 80, Crash 2 and Crash 3 sit at 89.

When you look at the Uncharted Trilogy, all scored higher than the Crash Bandicoot games with Uncharted 2 being one of the highest rated games of all time.

Uncharted sits at 90, Uncharted 2 sits at 96 and Uncharted 3 sits at 92. The Last of Us sits at 95.

This doesnt take into account the numerous Game of the Year awards that Uncharted 2 and The Last of Us managed to attain. Record breaking numbers.

That really only shows that reviewers overrate ND nowadays. Would the games have gotten these scores if an unknown company made them? I doubt that. (and yes, the same can be said about other companies, including Nintendo). Having played these games, they're nothing remarkable from a gameplay perspective and rarely do anything new. They're not bad, far from it, but 96%? Just no.

You forgot to mention that TLOU has been released on two different consoles and one of them is a remastered version. Are we going to add up Pokémon Red/Blue with Pokémon Yellow as well now?

Game of the Year awards are nothing but empty hype awards.

Sales, awards and standing in the industry says yes, yes they have.

1. Outside of Japan Uncharted 2 & 3 have outsold all Crash games and TLOU is NDs highest selling game ever.

2. How does your metacritic argument have any leg to stand on? You count one Crash game, ignore that reviewing standards have massively changed, then also ignore both of the highest rated and most celebrated ND games of the last generation and then proceed to call his point a lie.

I stand by my opinion, which I'm pretty sure is shared by tons of PS fans, I love me some mature ND and don't need them to go back to the Jump & Run genre. If they want to neither continue Uncharted or TLOU, then they should take a look at making something out of the Savage Starlight idea, I'd love some mature ND Sci-Fi.

1. And why would Japan not count? The least selling Crash game (made by them) sold better than the best selling Uncharted game. TLOU has been released on two different consoles, one being a remastered version. Are we going to add Pokémon Yellow to the sales of Pokemon Red/Blue as well now? So no, it's not NDs highest selling game ever. Also, it's heavily bundled.

2. Because it shows there's barely a difference, even if you count their highest rated games. Unless a difference of 5% is big now?

I said they should make something that isn't a third person action shooter, I didn't say they should make a platformer. That would make me happy, but I'd also like to see them make an action rpg in a huge open world for instance. Or on the topic of sci-fi games, why not a Metroidvania game in 3D? There's barely any of those!

If that TLOU 2 rumor was true that means their 6 latest games are all third person shooters. Do something new will you...

Well, you would say that reviewers overrate the PS3 ND games because you think differently to them.

Im not going to get into a petty war of what does and doesnt count, Im just giving you numbers for each release. There are no goalposts to move, no excuses to be had. Literally everything we have right now on Naughty Dog shows them being a developer far beyond the one we saw on PS and PS2. The fact that a Remaster of The Last of Us has done as well as it has done shows the quality and appeal of the title.

The fact that for each release, Naughty Dog saw increased sales and more and more positive PR tells you that they are doing something right. The fact that a new IP launched to 2.5 Million units in 4 Weeks, on a system that was about to be replaced, should tell you how Naughty Dog are currently seen in the eyes of gamers.

Right now, the name Naughty Dog demands respect. Hell, you even just compared them to Nintendo when it comes to reviewers showing bias because of the name.

1. First of all, do you seriously believe that Crash wasn't bundled? Second, how in the world is Pokemon Yellow a remaster of Blue/Red? It's a different game, by your logic crossgen versions of the same game shouldn't count as the sales of one game. Are we supposed to count GTA V on next gen as a seperate game from the 360/PS3 version as well and then the PC as another seperate version? Third I'm not saying Japan shouldn't count, I'm just saying that in large parts of the world UC2 & 3 have actually outsold the Crash games.

2. That still entirely ignores the difference in reviewing standards. Ocarina of Times original version has a 99 on metacritic, the remake has a 94, the original Halo CE has a 97, remake 82.

And they'll do something different, if they want to, I personally love their third person shooters, even if I find that term to be quite the oversimplification of what TLOU is.

1. It's not a different game, it's a remaster...

And we're talking about exclusives here, not multi-platform games. The Crash trilogy was only on one conso:le, TLOU is on two consoles.

2. A 5% difference isn't big. As for reviewing standards, who says they weren't more critical of an unproven developer (ND in the 90s) than of a proven developer (ND nowadays)?

Big name developer = more bias = bigger review scores

You argue:

"The first Uncharted had 88% and the last had 92%. So that's lie #2."

and then argue what is in bold. It doesn't get much better than that.

Any game that scores over 95% is overrated.

So like that Mario game on the Wii.
