Or they realized that they have no chance at winning a gen and most of their investors all demand in unison that they drop out and/or sell the Xbox division.  I'm sure Sony and Nintendo will still be around then, though.

What is that thing with "wining"? Wining what?

You know that Windows Phone is on a far worst situation for "wining" anything againt the ubicuous Android? And eventhought MS is puting a lot of money on it.

We are at about 10 years since Apple resurgence and the guys in Cupertine never gave a second glance at the home console market. Samsung has grown at a point to be 10 times bigger than Sony and where are their home console?

Where is the Google home console? The Facebook home console? The Amazon home console (Fire TV?)?

Well, if you can´t give credit for Microsoft or think the market can survive with Sony alone (bleading $2bi a year) then you are delusional.

This guy has proven himself to be Sony crony everytime he speaks. His bias knows no bounds. Sure, it might be true, but it's his method of delivering these "leaks" that make him sound like a nipple dweller.

really?

This will be my last post on this subject, as its going off topic.  Anyway, MS didn't get into this industry to finish 3rd.  They got into it to take over the living room.  Unfortunately for them, that's not going to happen.  Not with the policies they want to put into place.  Paying premiums for less.  Most features hidden behind a paywall.  And the attemted always-on DRM fiasco.  Something I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to bring back.

Sony is already making the changes necessary for them to turn things around so they are no longer bleeding money.  If worse comes to worse, they will just drop most investment they have in TVs and be in a better situation altogether.  Sony PS will be just fine, especially with all the profits this gen will bring for them.

And yes, this market will go on without MS.  It was fine before they arrived.  It will be fine if they leave.

It dosen´t matter which is the lead platform as this COD is being develop for PS4 and XOne first, and then down ported to PS360...(WiiU?), not the other way around as it was with "Ghosts".

The resolution gap, if that were any, will be smaller this time.

PS: Last year Resolutiongate was kind of pointless, don´t you think? The PS4 with all that power, $100 cheaper and 2mi more units sold, managed to sell only 10% more COD:Ghosts...

I'd say it's more like MS spent plenty of money on exclusive marketing round the clock, plus an exclusive bundle, yet still sold fewer units.  Basically, MS is slowly losing the COD crowd majority.  Wonder what will happen to sales if MS decide to no longer pay for exclusive advertising and bundles.

You will wonder for a long time... until Microsoft thinks the home console market is worth fighting for, they will continue to spend money on their time exclusive deals and second part games.

Also, the day Microsoft quit the home console market, is the day this market is dead.

Or they realized that they have no chance at winning a gen and most of their investors all demand in unison that they drop out and/or sell the Xbox division.  I'm sure Sony and Nintendo will still be around then, though.

Nintendo has one more console left in them. If this next one is as big a failure as the WiiU they will leave the market as well. The traditional console market as we know won't last much longer anyways. Everything will be cloud based within 10 years. I expect the next MS console to be 100% cloud based
