Forums - Gaming Discussion - Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Website Hides Wii U Logo In Source Code

I'm fairly torn as to whether or not I'd actually want to support it if it did come to WiiU.
I guess it will come down to money at the time, with this quite low on the priority list.

As I said in the other thread, I'm not surprised.

i would be very  surprised if advanced war comes to wiiu, i'm sure they were thinking about cancelling ghosts, but decided it was too far in development and wanted to give  wiiu one more chance, since its been on the market longer and has a bigger instal base, they probably thought ghosts would do much better then blops 2. the source code could be a year old for all we know.

This code isn't in the ghosts website.

If it is coming to Wii U, does this prove that CoD is the only multiplatform series making money on the Wii U?

Activision brought all big titles to Wii U. Destiny will be the first one that skips it.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

I think it's determined by how much time Treyarch needs for CoD 2015. They did the Wii verion for MW3 and Wii U version for Ghosts, so if they have time they'll probably port it. Or High Moon Studios may do it.

They have a small team that only does Wii U CoD ports. Their main focus are Wiimote controls. These people aren't involved in the development of the other versions.

Activision will probably fire them if there's no CoD 2014 on Wii U.

"Searching through the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare site’s source code, we found an interesting image…this image shows a Wii U logo alongside the logo of all other platforms. As of right now, there’s no announcements about a Wii U version and the preorder page doesn’t have a Wii U box art."

just a fyi its an image used aa a resource dump by web designers,  page elements tben use parts of the one image for the site so therea only one url request rather than multiple,  it will be listed in there purely for the sake of not having to edit the resource data down the line to add in a wiiu section.

if there was actual source code on the page linking to that area of the image but simply set to display:hidden then i would be more inclined to say theres weight to the idea,  but just a logo on the image doesnt give enough credence to it on its own.

You are right, it is the treyarch Wii U Team, it is composed of 38 people, that take about 1 year to port the game, they don't have the man power to develop and test DLC, but they have a lot of experience with the base game.

Treyarch are the only COD dev who don't fear the Wii U, so there is a small chance it will come

Yeah, what I'm saying is games like Batman and Assassin's Creed are skipping the Wii U, probably because of poor sales. But I guess CoD sales are good enough on Wii U that they're bothering porting the game on WIi U (if this is true).

Not unexpected. It's what happened before with Ghosts, so I don't understand why people didn't expect the same here.

If it's true. Ofcourse I expect that it is.
