You're right - of 141 games I own on Wii U, only 87 of them are from 3rd parties (20 of the 29 retail games, 33 of the 70 VC games, and 34 of the 42 eShop titles [9 of the eShop titles are full games available at retail; 5 of those 9 are third party])

I'll try harder.

You don't ACTUALLY have 141 games on the Wii U, do you?

fact is most gamers prefer cod/ac over those games, just look at the sales.

Gamers??  Hell no!

I have nothing against buying 3rd party games, but i'm not going to do it just for the sake of buying 3rd party games. I'm a gamer 1st, a nintendo fan second.
1. Most of the 3rd party games i MIGHT be interested were sequels (mass effect, batman, darksiders, ninja gaiden) i have a thing about a franchise in my collection sticking on one console. I'm REALLY hoping nintendos big announcement at e3 is bayonetta one will be available for download by the launch of bayonetta 2.
2. Most of the time the nintendo version of games are simply an inferior product, a plain old bad game, or a game i'm just not interested in.
ex's. final fantasy crystal bearers (bad game), just dance, rayman legends (not interested {MIGHT download rayman, but i don't buy sidescrolling platformers retail). cod ghosts/black ops (no community in a mainly online game) I predict watch dogs will be a poor version compared to ps4 and xb1, but better than ps3 and 360. That said it's delayed beyond all the other versions.
Now, after saying all that, i bought alot of 3rd party games for wii. they were original exclusive ip's. I have no more heroes 1 and 2, madworld(top 5 wii game for me), nba jam, fragile dreams, tatsunoku vs capcom, little kings story. Way more 3rd parties than 1st actually. If publishers starting taking chances like that again, then i'll be buying their games.

the issue here is if you look at the games you listed they didnt do all that well. SO its not hard to understand why publishers wouldnt take those risk.

yes gamers, and if you think people that buy cod and ac4 arent gamers, then your not any better then gamers that consider mario and zelda for kids.

Sure, but the ratio is bolstered on the WiiU thanks to heavy bundling.

When you buy a bundle though, you're still making the decision to purchase the bundled games, it's a package deal.

Depends on how it is bundled. Some times Nintendo has had it so it's difficult if not impossible to buy the console without a game (Wii Sports) included.

Except without Wii Sports Wii would have sold about 20million units. Wii Sports is the sole reaon so many Wii's sold

I got my Wii U in December with three 3rd-party games and 2 first party games and I haven't bought another game since then. I'm buying Mario Kart this month and my brother may download Arkham Origins Blackgate in the near future but that's about it. Till Watch Dogs and Smash Bros come out, we won't be getting anything else. We can't afford the time and money to have the kind of libraries some people have posted here so we select very carefully. Not our fault that most third parties don't release anything appealing enough on the Wii U

lol at some of the comments. Funny thing is that people swear Ninty games are so much better than 3rd party ones are the same ones crying when a game doesnt get released on time or at all on a Ninty system. Either you care or you dont and judging by the sales. Most people dont and are content to buy them on another system or not at all.

I imagine it's just as funny as people bashing Mario and Zelda, then go to other forums and post how they wish Nintendo would just make games like Sega because they'd love to play Mario and Zelda on PS4.

I would wager that almost all Wii U owners have a PS360 or a good PC where they get the 3rd party games. That way they get a good version, on time and can play with their established friend network.

This sounds like a good poll question.  I'd wager you might be surprised at the results.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=182583&page=2

So, 80% of Wii U owners have another system as an option for multiplats.  We should have bet something of value :)

Simple. Because people get a Nintendo console to play the 1st party titles. 3rd party titles are a bonus and not all are willing to get such games because they don't fit their tastes and are, in the majority of the cases, downgraded versions of other console/PC variants.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...
