Forums - Movies & TV - The Amount Of Sony Product Placement In 'The Amazing Spider-Man' Sequel Is Ridiculous

We don't live in a world with only Sony electronics and that's what makes the products stick out so much in the sequel.

Well, we don't live in a world with people sticking in the walls and villains throwing buildings in the population... I remember that in Skyfall the ammount of Xperia phones was simply unbeliavable. This kind of marketing is becoming more popular, it isn't hard to see (talking about Brazil here) a lot of merchandising on television shows. Lumia phones, food marketing...

I remember one time, one or two months ago, when the characters on a show were supposed to go (around 7 people) to another location and were worried about how they would fit on the car. The main character "fortunatelly" had one of the most recent minivans from Chevrolet and lost 2 minutes explaining how everyone could fit and how huge was the internal space of the car.

I usually don't see that much of a problem when the products simply are there, but things become simply ridiculous when they are all over the place or when characters start to show it and talk about it.

I don't see how a person's electronic preference diminishes the emotional impact of a scene. Especially considering you have to actively search for many of those products. It seems the author just felt like writing about something.

What did you expect from a fucking film made by sony pictures?

It's time Sony just sells the Spiderman franchise back to Marvel/Disney.

The everything about the reboot is nowhere near the same quality of the Spiderman series of the early 2000s.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Having watched the film, I can say that I noticed he had a Vaio laptop but otherwise I didn't notice any of this.

The reboot is great, definitely better than 3. You can argue about 1 and 2 being better though.

So, a picture made by Sony should what?
-spend money on competitor's products?
-put tape over all the Sony products?
-Not have electronics in the movie at all?
-
If I had my regular computer on me, I'd grab a screen of the credits where it says "Produced by Sony Pictures" and put a red arrow highlighting it

Some of the sh!t people complain about is so ridiculous that it's nauseating. I mean, looking at that 1st picture no one can tell half of those things are Sony products. Why would I even look at that picture an not just look at the character on screen instead of looking around his "room" to find things to complain about on the Internet? And who cares if they use all Android phones in a movie or all iPhones in another movie? That's so laughable that people would even make that a thing. I guess you all are lucky to have these first world problems.

I took me 40+ minutes to figure out that none of those images had a PS4.

I dunno, Amazing Spiderman seems closer to the Amazing Spiderman (where he is yonger) vs Spiderman and Spiderman, the first movie was the best imo.
