Next-Gen Call of Duty Focusing on Private Military Companies, Revealed by Clues Hidden in Teaser Site

by Giuseppe Nelva (just now) 4

Activision opened a teaser site for the next generation Call of Duty to be released this year, and while the page itself only shows a blurred out picture, it does include a very interesting series of hints that couldn’t escape my (fairly nearsighted) eye.

The page features three small white “dots.” somewhat hidden by the blur of the picture. They aren’t very well hidden to be honest, as they load faster than the picture itself, resulting glaringly visible against the black background for a second or so.

When clicked they link to three different sites, all including articles focusing on private military companies.

The hints are pretty obvious, and it’s very easy to interpret them as an indication that the game is probably going to involve the PMCs we learned to know in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

While the clues are hard to dismiss, we should of course consider this a rumor until the official reveal, that will happen this Sunday, but if this was supposed to be subtle…well.. It really isn’t.

"Call of Duty", "Private Military Companies". Those two don't compute, call of DUTY is regarding your supposed duty to serve & protect your nation, now it looks like your new "DUTY" is to collect a pay check. Such a bastardization, they should be ashamed.

Only 6 years after MGS4. Cutting edge, Activision. I guess when your best idea is "dogs" it's time to start stealing ideas from other games.

It looks like PMCs might be the bad guys and we'll still fight for a set military.

Exactly, it will probably be the first COD I buy since Black OPs. I luv PMCs, a lot more innovative then Dogs.

That is why its so intresting. You've got a complex contradiction here that if handled well can result in a very intresting story. I'm one of those rare people who buys game for their story and singleplayer, rather than just multiplayer.
