Hmm, not bad for a free game but I must say, I'd have expected co-op. It's most of the fun for racing games to me.

It has 16, 2 were added free so far

They're making up for it with free content. 

Yea I'm just going to use it to try the game out and see how I like it.

PS+ free edition seems like a great way to see all there is to the game, then if you still want more, than upgrade to full digital version for the additional cars/tracks for a discounted additional fee.

Why are the new driving games having troubles with few tracks and cars?

Are they doing some new tech on them or something not so obvious? Plus this was supposed to be a launch game - so it's really delayed. Just seems like the NEW driving games seem to be giving developers more trouble than seems like what should be just a more advanced version of games they have already made.

This is just the PS+ edition. I don't think they've announced how many for the final game.

Yeah, I look at it this way. I probably would have got this game anyway, at a store, paid for the disk. This way, since I already have PS+, I get a portion of the game for free but the really cool thing is, I'm definitely going to be paying less than what I would of have to, to get the full game IF the only way of getting the full game was getting the disk (or full digital version). So I guess it may equate to something like a 25% discount for the full version (or the likes). 

In saying that, some retailers give pretty good discounts on full price games when they are first released so I will be carefully comparing the "upgrade" price to the store prices of the full game.

Also, I think this game is going to get a lot of DLC, probably a season pass because by its nature it's meant to be a community style racing game, so expect a lot of DLC for this one.

It could be Sony testing a twist on the business model of paid DLC with a framework of the game initially shipping but in this case, the framework is free, unlike Forza 5 which came with much more contnent but seen as a business model for  encouraging purchase of DLC too. But MS appeased some of those concerns with some free content as well.

I doubt there will be any free DLC content with Driveclub, hence why we get the core free to begin with.

Personally, I like the Sony approach. You can still get the Platinum with the give away which shows the intent.
