Forums - PC Discussion - Do you keep your old stuff?

Im 'not a frequent buyer off new equipment, but over the years i gone through a few monitors, cases and even tops.
I saved the fat monitor and pc running windows 95 for if i get nostalgic and want to play alladin. I even saved the tapeaddin for the rare case i come across old tapes. I kept my first laptob.

I don't wanna know about old consoles you kept,
but share your story about old monitors, pcs hell even your nokia 3310

I still own a house in the UK, what I owned before moving to Japan which my brother currently lives in with his girlfriend, the basement is filled with basically every computer, monitor, printer, server and networking switch i ever owned because i always held on to things when upgrading equipment incase the new stuff failed or someone i know needed something, over time id end up buying more new stuff and the old new stuff would be added to the pile.

I still own basically every graphics card, motherboard, sound card, cpu and monitor i ever bought (that was naturally replaced rather than replaced due to breaking)

Software I do.. heck I even stil l have my Doom 2 floppy disks... haven't had a floppy drive for over 10 years..

Hardware I throw away except for my Mac and console stuff.. and my Voodoo 2 card.. that was like the best investment ever game related..

I am still using my 12 year old mousepad. I have changed CPU to monitors many times. But I couldnt replace that mousepad.

Probably enough skin cells and genetic material to build a clone.

I have a confession, i still use, and prefer, my old microsoft wheel mouse optical v1.1 over all of my other wired and wireless mouses, even the high end high dpi gaming ones.

Best fucking mouse ever.

I could have written this. Word for word, I'd only replace 'Doom 2' for 'Wolfenstein 3D' and 'Voodoo 2' (which I did have) for 'Geforce 2'.

I've trown away anything that's old, except our old 1995 Mac (Performa (Quadra in other areas of the world) 630, for those interested) and 1997 PowerPC Mac (a black Performa 5500). I boot up both of them every now and then, to make sure they keep functioning. Over the years, I slowly replace the hardware in my PC, and throw away the older stuff after a little while after it collected enough dust in a drawer somewhere. Monitors too and phones as well, except, again, the Apple ones. Maybe I should ask my grandmother sometime what ever happened with that 80s Atari home computer she had.

I can also shake hands with daredevil, I still use a mouse of a similar age. A Microsoft trackball.

Hey! I still use my Nokia 3330! Tho that will change this year as the battery is starting to fail.

Yes, I hate cell phones.

Other than that, I still have my 2 last PCs and my last monitor and keyboard (just in case the ones I use now fail or broke). I would also keep the mouse(s), but I replace them often as I tend to destroy the rubber pads from beneath them :-/.

Please excuse my bad English.
