Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Kirby: Triple Deluxe reviews are In!

Tagged games:

  • Cheat Code Central (4.9/5) - Whether it's a spin-off or a major installment, Kirby is a name you can trust. Fortunately, Kirby Triple Deluxe continues this tradition.
  • EGM (9.0/10) - In the end, Kirby: Triple Deluxe is another fine addition to the long line of stellar handheld games in the series.
  • Gametrailers (8.7/10) - With so much to do, achieving 100% completion will take some real effort. It’s fair to say the game earns the Deluxe in its title, and almost everything here is well done. Charming and light like its hero, Kirby Triple Deluxe has some real substance under all the pink fluff.
  • Game Informer (8.5/10) - During the last few worlds and final boss, I was surprised to see my lives dwindle, and began to play much more carefully – something I’ve never done in previous Kirby titles. I was excited to embrace this challenge. The game isn’t hard, but I needed to improve my abilities as I made my way to the end boss. This made for a Kirby experience that remained engaging up to the final boss and beyond.
  • Nintendo World Report (8.5/10) - There are annoyances here and there, but Kirby: Triple Deluxe is still a strong entry in the Kirby franchise. It instantly feels familiar, but adds to the Kirby formula by adding a number of unique and interesting scenarios, through both abilities as well as the 3DS hardware.
  • Escapist [Jim Sterling] (4/5) - It's hard not to simply smile the whole time playing, and it's harder not to recommend a game that can do that! (Jim Sterling!)
  • Gamespot (8/10) - Triple Deluxe is an absolute diamond of a game, and cements Kirby's place as nothing less than a bone fide platforming superstar.
  • Destructoid (8.0/10) - Kirby: Triple Deluxe is yet another winning entry in the franchise. It delivers the core Kirby experience alongside of a few very well done extras, which is pretty much everything a fan could ask for. While the Kirby formula could easily be getting stale for some, it still represents a whimsical corner of platforming games that's centered around one central ideal -- fun.
  • Polygon (7.5/10) - Kirby: Triple Deluxe really warmed up after the first world or so, with levels that had me warping between planes and making clever use of Kirby's ever-expanding arsenal. Kirby: Triple Deluxe isn't the prettiest Kirby game — but it's the smartest.
  • IGN (6.0/10) - Too easy

Current Metascore: 80

Other Traditional Kirby Games:

  • Return to Dreamland - 77
  • Squeak Squad - 71
  • Super Star Ultra - 76

Generally Agreed Upon Points:

  • It's no Super Meat Boy in terms of Difficulty, but it was never trying to be
  • Loads of fun Power-Ups, mostly well fleshed out
  • A wee bit traditional, but includes smart use of powers, level design, and 3D effects
  • Slightly longer than you'd expect (10 to 12 hour campaign plus Fighters, DeDeDe Dash, harder stages and modes, etc.)
  • Speaking of Extras, they're apparently great, even though Fighters lacks online play
  • Sweeter than the Semen of Jesus

Is this the best traditional Kirby game since the 90's?

It's usually a bad thing when Jizz comes quickly, isn't it?

It wont be as awesome as Amazing Mirror, but still looks awesome nonetheless! I'll pick it up whenever I stop playing nothing but Mario Kart 8 non stop hehe!

If you pick Kirby up in a few days, you should have most of a month to play it before Mario Kart 8. And even then, you can play Kirby while waiting in lobbies or loading screens.
