Playstation Now is coming.

If your not in the know, Playstation Now is a Streaming service that Sony is gearing up to release.

With Playstation Now will offer games streamed to your devices, PS3, Vita, PS4 and also select Mobile devices.

Looking at the list of Playstation Now games that are in the beta, Puppeteer, Grid, Darksiders, Pixlejunk Shooter 2 and Saints Row 3, just to name a few.

So there will be both full retail games along with digital released games.

So my question is, if Sony is able to offer gamers these games streamed to your PS3/PS4/Vita, what is stopping them from activating a Digital PS4 copy to gamers that have already purchased the game ?

This would give the Playstation 4 a huge edge compared to the competition, Help convince more ps3 gamers to purchase a PS4 and may also help boost PSN sales.

What do you think gamer's ?

PS4 will play natively PS1/PS2 games in the future... you will need Now for PS3 games only.

When that happen I will set my PS3 to my little brother... I want Now most to play PS3's JRPGs.

Do you have a source for that because that would be amazing if true.

Hm so confused right now...I want to be able to play my ps1 and 2 games, but thing is if lets say we some how get an option to be able to play ps2 games does that mean I have to purchase the cd's or is it digitize only? I ask that because there are so many games not available for dl....

I don't really understand what you mean with that. You will always need a PSNow subscription to play the games on the PS4. If you just mean that they will make your purchased digital PSN games available for no additional fee within the subscription then I'll say that is quite likely.

If you mean that your purchased PS3 games will be playable on the PS4 without PSNow subsription I don't see that happening. It would cost Sony a ton of money to support all these games via stream to you. Just imagine you want to play a game you purchased for $2 on PSN forever via stream. That would be a huge loss for Sony. They need ongoing fees for their ongoing costs.

So does this mean PS3 PS+ titles will be able to be played on PS4? I'm only asking because it seems that only crap will be on PS4 PS+.

Even though your streaming  the game through Playstation Now, the PS4 is still playing the game somehow.

So that means that the PS4 is capable of playing the game without Playstation Now.

So then its possible to play the game digitaly from PSN via your PS4.

So why not allow gamers that bought the game digitaly on their ps3 to play it on their PS4....

Looks like there are giant holes in your understanding of PSNow.

What PSNow does is run the games on servers and compress and stream the video to you. The only thing the PS4 is doing is  decompressing the stream and sending your controller inputs to the server. PS4 is not and will not be able to run PS3 games natively or via emulator. It's neither build for that nor strong enough to handle emulation of the PS3 architecture. The only PS3 games you will see on PS4 are especially recompiled for the system and they won't do that for most of the games.

But what if PSnow is more like a rental service?
e.g. you pay a fee for a 1,3,6 or 12 month license for a game. Then it would make it different to the license people have traditionally paid and would not carry over.
Since its streaming, I dont think they will be selling life-time licenses because if they stopped the streaming servers at any time and they would get sued until they go broke.
