Forums - Website Topics - ad malware targeting mobile in site

I am browsing site on my phone as I do often. First time ever I have a popup that says virus found run scan now from an embedded ad on thus site. It only had an OK button and when I trued to back out it took a few attempts as it tried to prompt me again and open the play store to download an app. I'll have to trigger again to see what app is I can report it.

DONT EVER RUN A SCAN ON ANYTHING FROM ANY KIND OF WEB POPUP! Just FYI.

Yea, those popups suck! Specially on mobile! But usually with chrome, I can just press the X button and not have to click anything! Although, mobile malware is getting more and more frequent these days so highly suggest getting an anti-virus (most are free) just in case

AVG Mobile FTW

My anti-virus aint ever found anything on VGC, but boy oh boy do I get pissed off navigating the site on mobile with the re-directing ads.

But but they're from the internet. If they don't know if I have a virus who does?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I never tried browsing VGChartz on my phone and I don't think I will try that anytime soon!

Those ads are the worst. I have Norton antivirus on my phone too just in case.
