PS1 wins because of FFIX, Gran Turismo, Crash, Chrono Cross, Xenogears and a lot more of games I love, but N64 was an amazing console as well and one of my fav nintendo systems along GBA and Snes. Hard choice...

Damn the voting is the closest I've ever seen in a poll on this site. For me personally it'd be the PSOne. I owned one and I loved it. My buddy owned an N64 and while it was amazing, I wouldn't have traded it for my PSOne.
DarthVolod said: Voted n64. Yes, the playstation had more variety, but you really could not go wrong that generation (unless you purchased a Saturn, sorry). |
The Saturn was good! 2nd best console of its generation.
The N64 offers a wide variety of platform games (which happens to be one of my favourite genres). Games like Super Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie make this a clear winner personally. Games like Ocarina of time help out too.
PS1, I'm sure, is a great system, but nothing will ever come remotely close to Banjo Kazooie or Ocarina of time.

Owned both, N64 easily wins. Incredible games regardless of whether it was the "cooler" of the two. It definitely picked substance over style and thus still holds up exceptionally well today.

mario kart was fun but got boring fast for me, mega man x4 was great , i forgot about that, zelda mm was great but by the time it came out. i was ready for nextgen and owned a dreamcast.
N64
It had the classics that stood the test of time. Titles like Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time have such a huge influence to this day.

Mobile - The Simpson's Tapped Out and Yugioh Duel Links
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)
Both are amazing but Playstation one was better overall.
Both had amazing exclusives but PSone had more because had a bigger library.
Tekken 3 was a beast. That game is still good, even today.
Soul Edge really nice too.
Street Fighter Alpha
Tekken 2 amazing
Ridge Racer Type 4
Ace Combat
Tales of Destiny
Namco did a great job for PSX, as good as the work of Rare for the N64.
Both were good systems in the end.
Edit:
I forgot Squaresoft (Vagrant Story, Xenogears, FF Tactics, FF9, Chrono Cross, Parasite Eve...)

Hahaha, I knew this would be tight, but it's mostly like a tie than a win for one side, let's see if it keeps like this or one will take the lead and keep rising the gap xD |
I don't think either will pull away. They're so close and the gap between them hasn't been greater than 3 votes I think.
