Do you consider Nintendo for children?

I was wondering this almost ever since I got a Wii U. Now I know Nintendo have franchises with cartoon mascots like Mario and Donkey Kong but why is Nintendo childish for having these franchises while Sony has Knack, Little Big Planet and had Crash Bandicoot? Is it the name "Nintendo" that bugs people? I have never seen a child who mastered Call of Duty or BF master Mario.

So what is it?

t started back on the SNES when Nintendo put its own rating system on it causing games like Mortal Kombat to have green ooze instead of blood. Nintendo hardware and software just tends to sell better with kids. The titles they put in the forefront are all pretty much kiddy titles. Only recently have they been pushing more mature titles

Maybe it's because Nintendo actually promotes their consoles as such?

Because most of their games are rated for everyone. Doesn't mean all the people who play them are kids, is just that since wii Nintendo itself has advertised their consoles that way.

because Wii

Nintendo aim themselves towards family products, which are aimed to be kid friendly. Zelda and Metroid are there 2 most adult franchises and even then I would let my non existent child play them.

Sony has GoW, MS has GoW, Nintendo dosent

Just watch TV ads, never will you see Nintendo aim at an 18+ audience.

Historically, they have marketed to children. They've changed games so they don't have blood, words that kids shouldn't hear, etc.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Their games are suitable for children. Anything that's children-friendly, no matter the quality of the product, will be labeled as for "children" instead of for everyone (see: Pixar movies).

Saying something's for children doesn't make a statement about the quality of the product or say it's inherently wrong for non-children to enjoy said product.

Zelda Metroid Star Fox F Zero and other games from studios they own like Xenoblade. How about SSB? Punch out?

As for TV ads, I havent seen a Wii U commercial since February. At the moment Nintendo dont have any mature game to market until MK8. After that they will have Hyrule Warriors which will be T, SSB4 which is a fighting game, X, Bayo 2, Retros game, STEAM, and others. Hopefully Nintendo advertises these games.
