The N64 had alot of revolutionary games. It was also considerably more powerful than the PS1, despite cartridges making game storage a hassle. Also remember the analog stick.
The GC, on the other hand, had great games but far less really reinvented the wheel. It also did not have any significant advantage over its competitors hardware-wise, and had no multimedia features while the other consoles improved on multimedia features established in the previous generation.
