You must not know what "just about" means. And even then, there was still a decline over the previous installment, so your example just proves my point lol. Prequels with subtitles are mainline now? Are you for real?

Does PS4 need a competing SIM? If you really don't think releasing a game on an a console after its successor comes out is pretty much universally going to result in decreased sales, I don't know what to say. The fact that you have the word "sales" in your username but are oblivious to such basic trends is honestly hilarious.

GT6 was completed when it was completed. Sony can't magically schedule it to a more opertune time, and had they switched it to a PS4 title, they would have wasted a lot of resources and probably seen equivalent sales due to the limited install base. There was going to be a tradeoff no matter what they did with it. And again, the fact that you think one spin-off in a series is indicative of an entire trend of decline within the IP just speaks to your knowledge (or lack thereof) regarding sales.

Reach was a decline, but still sold 9.5 million. Mainline implies the games aren't spinoffs, which Gears and GOW weren't. Halo Wars, ODST, those are not considered mainline. Gears J and GOW A were therefore mainline. Uhh...no. Judgment followed different characters, which none of the main entries did. Not to mention the fact that it was made by a completely different studio. Ascension focused on multiplayer, which none of the main entries did. These are entirely indicative of a spinoff, whether you're willing to accept it or not.

I find it funny how you poke fun at my username and not appreciating the circumstances......yet ignore the incompetance of a multinational corporation in terms of scheduling for their #1 IP release. I am just saying a GT fan wouldn't be detered by the release of the PS4 to buy their favourite game. That and the game just doesn't offer too much over GT5 to warrant a purchase. What does Sony's "incompetence" have to do with the hilarious irony of your username? You showed it just again with your next sentence. "I am just saying a GT fan wouldn't be detered by the release of the PS4 to buy their favourite game." That's the point. The only people who wouldn't be deterred are the hardcore GT fans, which are the ones who DID buy it.

The PS4 releases may very well do better then their last entries. Congrats. Doesn't change the present, no matter how much you are hilariously trying to sugar coat it. Man up and deal. It isn't personal. Gears of War is my thing and I accept what happened. Whatever. You deal and hope the next one brings the magic back. Sugar coat? I've given valid reason as to why any of these games seeing lower sales than their predecessors does not neccesarily imply that interest in the IP's overall has dwindled, and your only counter-argument is to claim that these reasons aren't valid because you say so, despite numerous examples in my favor. I've never even played a God of War game so I could care less about it "bringing the magic back." All I'm doing here is providing an objective explanation as to why you're incorrect.

Well its clear we aren't going to agree. That said:

I knew that the majority of GT5 sales were just bandwagon hoppers and not real GT fans. Thanks for backing up my hypothesis. Well that and the sales of GT6 obviously ;)

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

If you think the hardcore fans make up the majority of sales for any large franchise, you've just proven my point about your sales knowledge yet again.

Do you have nightmares about Sony? How you can be so intent on trying to bash thousands of individuals you've never met who make entertainment and consumer electronics devices is beyond me. Especially when you have to reach to this extent in a feeble attempt to do so.

I'd really recommend a hobby.
